  1. Football is too easy of a sport for Junior to waste his time on.
  2. At this point, my guess is we'll trade Soriano and Gregg, if possible. Along with Russell probably and one of Schierholtz or DeJesus. With a slim chance of moving one of Villanueva or Barney. If Schierholtz IS moved, I think we'll be ecstatic on the return.
  3. Wow, Candelario already has his own baaeball academy in the Dominican, with the goal of having every kid 6-16 playing baseball. Thats [expletive] awesome.
  4. We're way too jaded. WTF? Might as well enjoy it. Needless to say it'd be awesome if he's turning a corner. Can't say its impossible.
  5. Why only IFAs? I'm basing it year by year, I guess. Low payroll this year, subtracting money now, including a possibility the Yanks pay rest of Sori's money THIS year, but not much next year. With rumors our payroll could stagnate again next year, I'd like to see ALL of this year's already low payroll get spent, since the opportunity IS there to do it, with IFA's. Especially since this is probably our only shot with the "all in" approach. Don't get me wrong, as long as it gets spent somehow though, I'm fine with it.
  6. I hope we get more than that Whitley guy for him. If its just to save money, I still don't see the point, unless its going towards more IFA's.
  7. That dude is on PSD and has taken Marlin's or ABTY's info to other places in the past. It may be good info honestly, but its not his.
  8. Its not me saying 2015 now, its Theo coming out and saying the renovations setback are going to keep payroll from moving up as well. He basically aaid not to expect any big signings again this offseason.
  9. No. So what is left on it easily covers the expected penalty payments for international signees? That, or possibly allow for signing Gonzalez without the budget changing.
  10. Dodgers not pursuing Gonzalez, according to Jesse Sanchez.
  11. We only have two catchers on the 40 man currently, with Navarro being a trade candidate. I'd definitely prefer JR Murphy to Romine, with Sanchez around, I guess thats feasible. I'd take Angelo Gumbs and be happy. I'd love to grab Banuelos or Campos, but I can't see Cashman doing that in a year his team isn't likely to make the playoffs.
  12. I legit wonder if the Yanks are good enough to where Sori would even waive his NTC honestly.
  13. The New York Post sucks, doesn't it? And if we pay most of his deal, I'm hoping for more than a "midlevel" prospect, but I guess that term means different things to different folks.
  14. So, what now? Surely one of Soriano, DeJesus, or Schierholtz is dealt, if not two of them, right? Lake looks like he may push his way into a fulltime audition for the rest of the season anyway. Does Olt come up soon for a 60ish game audition at 3B, which could make Valbuena expendable, or Barney, if Valbuena moves to 2B.....Any chance now that it looks like 2015 is the target for us being good again, we'd see what Shark could get us from Arizona or Pittsburgh? Gregg will be gone, likely Russell too.....This next week or so could be nuts.
  15. That's just stupid. I wonder when they last pulled that off. No clue, if ever. I'm guessing 6-8 are Edwards, Olt, and Pierce for Parks though.
  16. Ramirez is on the 40 man already, by the way. Depending on what else is done at the deadline, I could certainly see us taking two guys that don't cost roster spots over Ramirez.
  17. Oh for the constant taunting possibilities with Law and Goldstein, if Lake winds up good.......
  18. Drafted 48th round. First year in full season ball. He's likely to make a list or 2 after this year, in my opinion.
  19. Baez, Almora, Soler, Bryant, Alcantara, Edwards, Johnson, Vogelbach, Candelario, and one of Vizcaino, Paniagua, or Blackburn at 10. Only because Lake is in the majors and likely loses his eligibility. Olt? No clue. Lets see what he does the rest of the year. He could be 6th if he mashes, top 15 if he continues at his current-post lasik pace, or top 25ish, if he plays worse......
  20. Have any prospect guys said anything about him and his stuff this year? It's really, really hard to ignore his numbers and then put him out of the top 15. Stuff is still fringy, backend starter, middle reliever, etc....
  21. Ramirez is a very solid 4th piece. I am curious as to who the other pitching options are though. If Payano or a Kevin Matthews, maybe Yohander Mendez and Nick Martinez are in the group to take 2 from- I'd be very tempted to go that route.
  22. 7IP 4H 2R 0ER 0W 6K. Hendricks.
  23. Parks said both Jimenez and Torres will get consideration for his top 15. BA will certainly have both in their top 30. Maybe somewhere in the late teens, is my guess.
  24. [expletive] me. Again, very happy with the return, but damn.....That would have been a HOLY [expletive] type of return.
  25. Wow, 2 PTBNL's? Maybe a carryover? I think they still owed us one from the Soto/Brigham to Loux deal last year....
