  1. Why in the blue horsefeathers does North post there?
  2. #Source Theo just whispered to Jed that our Death Star is quite operational.
  3. If there's not 40,000 volleyballs at Wrigley tomorrow, its a missed opportunity.
  4. I could see a Montero DL stint. To me, that'd make MORE sense. Not enough playing time for the 3 of WC, Montero, and Ross.
  5. Time, time, time, time for some aksion.....
  6. Oh yeah, the ML team comes first obviously. I was hoping the lack of a draft budget could allow for one IFA pitcher, like Gutierrez. But, as nice as it'd have been, its awfully hard to criticize the approach. Excellent showing, based on early looks and money spent overall.
  7. I'm not sure if the Kimbrel trade is worth using or not, but Boston gave up Margot(top 25ish), Guerra(top 75ish), Asauje, and Allen(both top 30s in a solid system). Kimbrel was under a 3/37 deal, versus 4/19.45 for Doolittle. Kimbrel is better, without the injury history(I think). Still, if you factor in Margot and Guerra, one year less control, and a much higher salary......I'd think Torres being included seems pretty reasonable, even with Kimbrel being the better pitcher. But, as TT said, Beane does like quantity, so maybe you can nab him that way.
  8. I think he'd want Torres. Doolittle is very good, cheap, and has 4 years of control. There's plenty of teams in need and its extremely early to make a deal. So my guess is it'd take giving him a SS to help make up for losing Addy, to get him now. And likely a Zagunis or Vogelbach to go with him. I know that sounds high, but he's not going to come cheap at all.
  9. Zagunis went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Candelario went 3-3 with a triple and a walk.
  10. Billy is already in trade mode. Go get Doolittle from him now, instead of waiting the Yanks out until whenever they decide(if they even do decide) that they're sellers. Not to mention their likely outlandish asking prices. Doolittle is very good, has his velo back and I can't imagine Billy starting with Schwarber. Even though you could conceivably make some semblance of a case that he's got as much value as Miller does. Miller at 2-18 in 17/18 versus Doolittle at 2/6.95 and 2 options for 12.5 total. I get he's not as good as Miller, but the controlled years plus the low salaries, plus the fact he's very good......He'd make a big difference for us.
  11. Gutierrez, Lazarito, and Arozarena were the only 3 of those that have eligibility. Whether its meant to mean NO ONE is signing or if CF Jonatan Machado or RHP Ronald Bolanos may be signing, is still technically up for debate. Even still, Badler has acted like the Dodgers were the only one still attempting to do anything.
  12. Contreras singled home Andreoli in the 1st, hit streak at 20 games.
  13. I think there's a decent chance Almora has played his last game in the minors this year. I figure Soler gets dealt before August.
  14. 93.2 average 2 and 4 seam FB yesterday. 4th highest for him since 2008.
  15. I keep forgetting we've got Nathan and Aaron Crow. One of those 2 or Matusz should factor in at some point. Pretty solid job of acquiring flyers.
  16. James Shields disagrees
  17. So lots of rumors today......Bulls won't trade Butler unless Wiggins is involved. KC actually said they want him AND the pick. Boston is floating 3 evidently involving Butler. And they're trying to trade Rose......
  18. Evidently, we're going to stretch him out.
  19. I would LOVE Miller. In fact, I may get laughed at, but I'd consider moving Torres for him. But it'd be an overpay and there's other options out there that are suitable and much cheaper. My gut tells me Miller stays put because the asking price is way too high. Soler and Candelario is in the range of what I figure we'd offer.
  20. Only surprise is that it took as long as it did. Still really nice to see though, lots of teams need bullpen help. This could wind up being a very important signing.
  21. Well, tomorrow is the last day for us. Badler sees the Dodgers making moves by then, but doesn't bring any other team up. Hopefully there's a surprise left for us somehow. Sucks Ruiz and Perez aren't eligible yet, as they were 2 of the guys we were really interested in.
  22. Yeah, I posted that in the 3rd inning yesterday.
  23. Cruz signs for 75,000. Saves 111,000 off of slot.
  24. Plus he chose SD over us because he said they were ready to contend immediately and for a long time.
