  1. he's lefthanded, doesn't hit lefthanded pitching very well, and was put in to face a tough lefthanded reliever. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SQA3d7NwSCE/Ur1rMrSiRpI/AAAAAAAAPh0/mnmxLbwtw54/s1600/what-i-expected.gif Believe it or not, he's got a higher OPS against lefties this year.
  2. I'm tired of waiting. He needs to horsefeathering hit.
  3. I kind of want to see Lackey beat the horsefeathers out of Peralta
  4. Well, hopefully that's the last we see of that slow ass [expletive]
  5. I get the point, but technically there's a 4 mill club option on Rodney. Plus, their system is weak. I hope those things inflated the return a bit anyway.
  6. Personality raise, he's the closest thing in MLB to the next Rickey Henderson.
  7. Ronald Torreyes is a major league hitter and just did this... #Yankees https://t.co/8niZ7MWOAL
  8. Good God, his last 15 innings......0 hits, 1 walk, and 28K's.
  9. He may just be stupid.
  10. Law thinks the Marlins gave up Chris Paddack for Rodney.......48/2 K/BB in 28 A ball innings at 20 years old.......Oh, and teams are hitting .098 against the guy. FFS.
  11. Their rebuild horsefeathering blows.
  12. Bud Norris to Dodgers, per Rosenthal
  13. Uh, no. Javy clearly has a higher upside. Although I think Russell IS the better player currently and maybe forever. But he can't touch Javy's upside. To me, the real question is whether Javy is a better defensive SS than Addy? I think I may have even saw a quote from Maddon yesterday basically saying that. I don't really think that's true unless you're defining upside as this pie in the sky type of thing where Baez can just suddenly change into a disciplined hitter...as much as I'd like to see it, I think it's extremely unlikely. And if that is how you're defining upside, you might as well say "but what if Russell developed 40 HR power??" Certainty matters, and there's a lot more certainty in Addison reaching more of his upside than the "upside" you're talking about with Javy. Javy doesn't need to become a 10% walk rate guy. His upside at 6-7%, combined with the 30+ HR alone makes him a higher upside guy than Russell. Russell is safer and likelier to put up a higher career WAR, but I'd actually bet Javy puts up the single best season of either of them.
  14. Javy might be better currently, but Addison still has the higher ceiling. Javy hits lefties a lot better and is bad against righties, Addison hits righties better and is bad against lefties. Javy strikes out less (feels funny typing that), but Addison walks more. Both are very good fielders. They strangely compliment each other right now. Uh, no. Javy clearly has a higher upside. Although I think Russell IS the better player currently and maybe forever. But he can't touch Javy's upside. To me, the real question is whether Javy is a better defensive SS than Addy? I think I may have even saw a quote from Maddon yesterday basically saying that.
  15. Tyson Miller signed for 500K, 70,300 over slot value.
  16. Its apparent to me that Schwarber is a FO favorite. Back to the comments he made in front of Theo and Jason pre-draft. Then add in he's a true baseball rat that sat with the FO during the draft a few weeks back......Them commenting on how awesome that was. They love the guy. And because of the injury, his value isn't as high as it should be anyway. We DEFINITELY wouldn't sell low on him. I get the mantra of "no one is unavailable". But unless something crazy awesome comes up, I don't see the FO trading him. Crazy awesome isn't a reliever either.
  17. The #Cubs have scored 412 runs this season. 87 of them (21.1%) have come against the #Reds (10 games). FYI @LenKasper, @lenandjd #CubsTalk
  18. Most of the prospect gurus said you'd have to be patient with Javy. It'll take him longer to be great and that there will be maddening things about his game always. He's actually better defensively than anyone figured he'd be too. Come year 4 of Zobrists deal, Javy will be an everyday 2B that's a 4-5 WAR type and not necessarily finished in improving either.
  19. KB told him it doesn't really count if it doesn't start with a 4.
  20. Be honest. It won't really take that long. True, I'm already back.
  21. A full horsefeathering season with KB/Rizzo/Contreras/Schwarber........I'll be back in 5 minutes.
  22. I hesitate to think what else is even possible to see this series.
  23. I figured Maddon would go with a weird lineup after last night, but I guess it makes sense to go with what works. https://t.co/wOOpbUQqnW
