  1. Yeah, cheese is pretty unique. I like all kinds
  2. I'd gamble with Drew, but would be nervous his whole contract about the injury risk. I just know that Soriano's gonna want 7 years and he's simply not going to be that great for long.
  3. Skim, 1% if it's chocolate (yes, Oberweis is so tasty)
  4. Pepsi takes like many other colas. I feel like that "spice" that's in Coke really distinguishes it from the rest and makes it my favorite,
  5. You don't have to be good to be a backup. You just have to not be bad and not make mistakes. Especially with this team.
  6. He's a corner outfielder, a .750 OPS and .111 IsoP are pretty awful. Yeah, Melky is basically Murton, or rather, a little worse. Nothing outstanding. Murton>Melky Yes, but not by a great amount. I was just trying to say that Matt should be the weakest link in the OF. We don't really need another Murton-type player out there.

  8. Shoot! It's not working for some reason!
  9. Macoun. Go to a Farmer's Market and try to find some. They're a mix of McIntosh and Jersey Black. Perfect.
  10. If he stays healthy, he'd be a very, very, very good addition.
  11. If the Cubs get Alph you can forget Drew. I think we should aviod referring to Soriano as "Alph" at all costs. Too much pain associated with that nickname. Yeah, its really annoying, especially considering he spells his name "Alfonso," not "Alphonso." "ph" doesn't make an "f" sound in the Spanish language.
  12. Soriano, but assuming its no more than 4 years and he doesn't bat leadoff. Drew is a close second, but the only reason he isn't my definite #1 is because he hasn't been able to stay healthy. He clearly has the best numbers, but don't his injuries bother anyone else?
  13. Great news. Pat's amazing
  14. I really don't want Soriano either. He's overpriced and played out of his mind last year. I just don't see him diverting from his career numbers that much for much longer. I guess it wouldn't be that bad if I had a guarantee Lou wouldn't bat him leadoff, but I'm almost certain that's what would happen and we don't need anymore low OBP from that spot.
  15. I'm 6930 and I joined it a couple of years ago (stupid not to do it sooner). I might get them before I retire!
  16. The hot girls were taken because we took so long to pregame, so we went back to reload to either increase our dancing skills or lower our standards.
  17. I AM SO HAPPY! Last nite I was really upset and just got completely hammered so that maybe I would forget how awful everything was going (and to go to a dance party). And I wake up to this! HAHA Woohoo!
  18. I agree. He's hardly the only option, and he's clearly no more of a sure thing than others. he may not be the only option, but in my opinion, he's clearly the best option. he's younger, he has more electric stuff than Zito or Schmidt, and thus more worth the money than either of those two. i just wonder what other FA options are out there for the Cubs to turn the team around. they weren't bad last year, they were god-awful. they need to make drastic changes. Hendry may have a big trade up his sleeve, but i don't see the Cubs improving dramatically through the FA market. i think a one-two punch of Z and Zaka is what this club needs, more so than Zito or Schmidt. perhaps i misspoke when i disagreed with your original point TheDude by saying the entire off-season hinges on this signing. but i think in terms of the other FAs out there, the Cubs are really blowing it by not going all out to get this guy. like i said, i don't think they will, and i think they'll regret it bigtime. Let him pitch a season over here before we proclaim him as the best pitching option. He may be lights out, but let's see it first. 4 years ago everyone was ready to put Kaz Matsui in the HOF before he even had an AB with the Mets. When i say everyone I am mostly including the media in that, but some on here were on the bandwagon as well. I'm with you on that. It might be fun to take a chance with him, and he dominates in Japan, but he's unproven against the world's best hitters (save once against a pretty good lineup in the WBC).

  20. I'd prefer Schmidt slightly over Zito and either heavily over Matsuzaka. Each has shown that they have great stuff, but we already have a soft-tossing lefty with a great curve in Hill. I don't want Matsuzaka because I am very hesitant to spend a lot of money on a player completely unproven in the major leagues. He has pretty good stuff, but how many times have we seen a pitcher from Japan or Korea come to the MLB, dominate at first, and then get figured out, ending in mediocrity? Enough for me. I think our money can be better spent.
  21. I don't like em. The Road ones look like something a AAA team would wear
  22. Haha thanks for reminding me how annoying Chip was at times. "It's gotta be the shoes, folks. It's gotta be the shoes" Shut. Up.
