  1. When you have tradition, your small old gym is cozy or a classic. When you don't, it's a high school gym. W-R seating is pretty close to the court and it gets loud. The scoreboard sucks, but there aren't a lot of bad seats, especially for $20. Haha, no insult intended, my high school gym seated 5k (which isn't in the top 30 in Indiana). So even if I'm most of the way up on the 210-214 side the views are ok? Haha, I wasn't directing that at you. I haven't sat up there, but you should be okay. The place is pretty small and there aren't obstructions or anything.

  3. I'd love A-Rod's contract to get voided. He'd look great on a cheap one year deal for us.
  4. http://www.nba.com/2013/news/features/david_aldridge/01/28/morning-tip-lakers-mini-win-streak-bulls-keep-it-together/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt6d I understand the sentiment, but wtf do some of those things even mean? What does it mean to "go up off the vertical" and how is "ah, ha, ha" humble?
  5. Just came here to post this. Pretty interesting to see what guys can/can't get away with. Also, Joe Maddon is awesome.
  6. I agree, except for the presence of Harry Caray and Steve Stone Yuuuuuuuuuup. Harry was tolerable until the stroke in '87, and even before that you'd only really hear the good announcer side of him for a few innings most games before he had too many drinks. Stone always sucked. Even as a kid I couldn't stand him; he sounded like the evil adult from every [expletive] kids movie ever made. This was kind of a damning piece about Harray. Makes him come off as kind of an a$$ http://www.beachwoodreporter.com/sports/sports_main_story.php That Josh Levin part was kinda odd. Although not surprising, seems like Harray put his ego/fame before others and even the product on the field (which, admittedly, was horrendous). Feel lucky to have Len in the booth. That doesn't really portray him as an ass, except for the Lewin part. Seems more like it's describing a shrewd entertainer, which is exactly what Harry had been up until his time with the Cubs. ETA, and the part about not knowing his kids. That's kind of par for the course for entertainers.
  7. it was never cute. but yes, somebody actually thought it was an english communication once. the grandest wordsmith of all time at that. lay off the guy, it's not like he was pursuing a career in journalism or anything where grammar is important http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303561504577496863632059058.html
  8. The bleachers have a great atmosphere relative to the rest of the stands. Grandmas don't tell you to sit down when you get up for a big moment in the game, for example. It's also fun to heckle opposing players and tease visiting fans. The sightlines are also better than sitting many lower deck reserved seats, imo because the overhang oftentimes blocks the scoreboard. The exception is CF seats, which are awful. That said, if given the choice of bleachers vs. upper or lower deck box, or any reserved seat that allows me to see the scoreboard, I wouldn't pick the bleachers. The lack of assigned seating is also annoying -- especially for weeknight games. Who has time to get to the ballpark at 5?
  9. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/28748115 Sammy's webcast from today.
  10. I just emailed my rep about this to confirm. There's been a season ticket holder presale for every other act, so I'm pretty confident that there will be one. UPDATE: She got back to me. "We anticipate that there will be a presale offered for season ticket holders, but details (including dates) are still being worked out."
  11. He is a cool guy. I ran into him at a bar on Clark St. a couple of years ago. I had just walked in for a beer and he was there by himself. The place was pretty empty and we chatted for a little bit.
  12. @thekapman I would love to see Phil Emery make a run at Flacco who his going to be a free agent after this season. Gonna cost a mint.
  13. No moral victories but I'm proud of how NU has battled back against IU late.
  14. My seats. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/20/e2atamum.jpg
  15. That's so sad.
  16. Gonna be tough. I don't buy that the Bulls (or any team) needs an all star just because their record is good. Bulls didn't get an all star the year they were a win away from the 2nd seed (06-07) and they had a similar situation with multiple borderline candidates (Gordon and Deng). I would love for the Bulls to get an all star but none of the 3 candidates has obvious all star numbers and none of them has really distinguished themselves from the other 2. Noah seems to get the most rep but there's no center spot and several quality centers to choose from. Boozer is playing like a legit all star but may have come on too late to get the nod. His numbers are still less than other candidates and he still has a negative reputation defensively, so bad that another coach mockingly voted him for all defensive team. Maybe another week of great play and might turn enough heads. Deng is probably the best overall player and has the best all star looking stats plus has broken the all star barrier before, but in terms of SFs he's still behind pierce who will get a spot. I'd guess that Noah is probably the best shot at an all star because hes getting the most pub and is having a great year but it could go either way Who are you going to pick over him as a PF in the East, though? David West? Boozer has definitely been better than Garnett this year...
  17. They have been fairly unlucky with injuries as well. He's not that far off from getting some recruits at the Bo Ryan-level more consistently. I'm actually a Carmody fan. A couple highly-regarded guys coming in next year, too, including a top 100 guy. Half of the fanbase absolutely wants Carmody gone, though.
  18. Boozer should be an All-Star.
  19. Bizarre comment about Wood and Prior being opposites. Meatbally Prior dig or am I missing something?
  20. Did Rondo just hit a jumper? Now I've seen everything.
  21. Haha that was awesome
  22. It still seems really weird that you'd mention it along with your REAL dead relatives. This is what they quoted him as saying after Dec. 6th: I mean, how should that answer have been handled? Something like this? Teo: I lost both my grandparents to cancer. Reporter: And your girlfriend too right? Teo: Oh yeah ... her as well. It depends on what the question was. A more tactful response would've been "I've lost loved ones to cancer"
  23. This is why I want Billy C. to stick around. The offense creates a great look on almost every possession -- just need to hit open shots and stay disciplined.
  24. What a great team player.
  25. Lol he didn't have possession.
