  1. it really is a legitimate question as to why there's so much grousing about a player who has OBP'd .400 for us thus far and the ignorance has festered to the point that these types of asinine statements are being made
  2. i admire your false confidence wolf
  3. yes it's amazing we ever score with this joker and his .400 obp hitting 2nd brainwashed
  4. am i the only person who thinks Cedeno's gaudy stats would be considerably lower with additional ABs? a full month of .400 on-base and Theriot still can't get anybody off his back on here. tough crowd.
  5. i hope hope hope the Padres sign him and solve their CF issues
  6. SportsNation Jerry Crasnick: John, It was a good, low-risk pickup by Jim Hendry. You could tell that Piniella wasn't very enthused about running Felix Pie out there day in and day out, so Johnson is a nice security blanket. In case you haven't noticed, Sweet Lou doesn't deal well with young players making mistakes when he's in "win now'' mode.
  7. and a .470 slg, resultant in a higher OPS. though, to be sure, it's less valuable to the team.
  8. Milton Bradley. that would be so disgustingly Cub-like. We could have signed him for no compensation in the offseason but we feigned confidence in Pie. Give him 4 starts, panic at struggles and give up a really good prospect to obtain that guy.
  9. whatever the opposite of steroids is test him for that
  10. wow what a game that was
  11. right now i wouldn't have much issue with Lou playing either as the starter, Cedeno's numbers would probably have come down quite a bit if he had 2.5x the ABs and i'd imagine be fairly similar to Theriot's line right now. Cedeno's competition is performing well in all situations so there's a much less legitimate complaint to be made for his lack of playing time when compared to some other players who have been similarly slighted by Lou.
  12. my whole point is that its ridiculous to complain so much about a player who's been very good so far
  13. So... basically what the zone rating stats said. but you treated it like a certainty that Theriot is now and forever henceforth will be a bad fielder. Just can't let it go, or what? You say you can't trust a defensive metric that rates a guy really high one year and really low the next. Then you say that your subjective view basically corroborates that (only apparently you didn't realize that's what you were saying). no, there were plenty of other reasons to distrust RZR but that wasn't really the topic being discussed.
  14. NABOKOV
  15. doghouse and hes never getting out of it
  16. this Cedeno in CF bandwagon has really got me nauseated. i do like him at SS but what on earth happened to suddenly make Cedeno a bat we absolutely must get into the lineup?
  17. isn't it a good sign that we're still outscoring our opponents even when we lose? it should indicate we're just not catching breaks.
  18. the khalils are 12-20 i piss my pants thinking about that matchup
  19. care to wager? this offer is open to the whole board. I'm not even close to taking it, but I am greatly disappointed with how this team has played in the last 2 weeks. EDIT: Especially considering our rotation, with Hill in flux and Marquis continuing to suck in short outings, a 2 week tailspin can mean worse things in the future chalk it up as a slump aramis isnt even around
  20. they should be one of the worst teams in the game, so i'm not too upset that they're overperforming and won't land an elite stud in the draft
  21. what memo? sorry, joe morgan sent out the verbal memo in the first inning. he actually said "obviously it's beneficial for every hitter to get on base but it's more valuable for top of the order hitters to get on base" or something to that effect.
  22. stupid soto he threw the ball there so early the tag almost whiffed before the runner slid in
  23. well if thats the way you meant it what a whiny and obnoxious thing to say we'll win the division by at least 5 games and the sniveling complainers such as yourself will bitch about every bad thing that happens on the way did you even read my post? Wow You have all the subtlety and reading comprehension of a Cro Magnon, hyuck hyuck yeah it's an incredibly moronic thing to say during the course of a baseball season "we're 3-7 in our last 10, if we keep at this pace we'll win 48 games!" if you're going to be ridiculous, why not just draw from a larger sample size and extrapolate our 18-12 record?
