  1. a .395 obp constitutes an automatic out? thats peculiar
  2. i dunno 7 year years is an awful long time...
  3. this man the MLB has some loathsome restrictions IF YOU CIRCUMVENT, OR ATTEMPT TO CIRCUMVENT, ANY BLACKOUT RESTRICTION OR OTHER USE RESTRICTION: YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE TERMINATION AND A CHARGE OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) FOR EARLY TERMINATION; YOU MAY BE SUBJECT TO LEGAL ACTION; AND MLBAM RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REPORT SUCH MISCONDUCT TO APPROPRIATE LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES. you used to be able to mask your IP but that seems like a dicey thing to try
  4. he was surprisingly candid about the situation
  5. thats pretty much why i've sworn off points leagues. it seems like im the only one who notices the inherent biases towards a certain type of player pre-draft. but to be fair, couldnt you have quickly perused last years stats and noticed the point distributions heavily skewed against starters- saving you from the wasted picks of peavy, doc, etc?
  6. Chris Perez
  7. WAR- HUHH WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?
  8. and if we had traded Marshall, he might be putting up quality starts every time out and we'd wish we still had him. i'm not really crying over spilt milk.
  9. San Diego's biggest problem right now is offense. Pie certainly doesn't fix that. one could argue that a SS producing right around a .600 OPS has contributed to this problem
  10. might as well put dallas mcpherson on there too
  11. i do actually like their offense some but that pitching staff is so abhorrent
  12. he's picking bad spots exhibit A - yadi molina
  13. i'm just glad not to follow a team whose franchise player has the spector of TJS constantly lurking over him
  14. true, that does bear mentioning. before this past offseason i had felt Beane was being a little overrated in comparison to the other great GMs because of the book. but my god, his two trades netted an incredible return. and am i the only one tired of the phrase "pixie dust"?
  15. daric barton, kiko calero, greg smith, dana eveland, carlos gonzales, aaron cunningham, chris carter, brett anderson
  16. it's strange that the two best OF arms in the game are both playing CF
  17. was it Sickels who last spring said he could very well see Theriot putting up a .280/.350/.400 line?
  18. it really is a legitimate question as to why there's so much grousing about a player who has OBP'd .400 for us thus far and the ignorance has festered to the point that these types of asinine statements are being made
  19. i admire your false confidence wolf
  20. yes it's amazing we ever score with this joker and his .400 obp hitting 2nd brainwashed
  21. am i the only person who thinks Cedeno's gaudy stats would be considerably lower with additional ABs? a full month of .400 on-base and Theriot still can't get anybody off his back on here. tough crowd.
  22. i hope hope hope the Padres sign him and solve their CF issues
  23. SportsNation Jerry Crasnick: John, It was a good, low-risk pickup by Jim Hendry. You could tell that Piniella wasn't very enthused about running Felix Pie out there day in and day out, so Johnson is a nice security blanket. In case you haven't noticed, Sweet Lou doesn't deal well with young players making mistakes when he's in "win now'' mode.
  24. and a .470 slg, resultant in a higher OPS. though, to be sure, it's less valuable to the team.
