  2. 20 board night for DeAndre Jordan seriously, i'll never figure out how he slipped to the 2nd
  3. they should introduce Goalie Shootout into the skills competition, make them leave their pads on and use the same sticks. i know i'd love it.
  4. it's better that we can replace Harden in the rotation with Marshall instead of Peavy? almost as odd as whoever's talking about cult of flagellants and frenzy of loathing to the nth degree or some [expletive]
  5. i might as well take the Lions...
  6. hmm, his paltry power numbers really went through the roof six seasons into his career, after becoming Bonds' teammate something's amiss here
  7. then that's a really pointless argument Justin Morneau is comparable to Chone Figgins, by your weird specifications. the futility of this is giving me a migraine.
  8. tell me about the batted ball types of each player that caused the significant gap in avg, while you're on a roll. also a little unsure why you left out a player's best season, since it's more recent and of better predictive value. but i agree with your second point. i guess they look a little bit similar.
  9. the Patterson comparisons are insulting to anybody with use of their brains compare both players performance at the same age, at the same levels and you've got really no similarities
  10. also, his K rate was on a consistent downward slope as he progressed throughout the minors. oh and his slugging improved at the same time.
  11. could our season have possibly changed for the worse if Edmonds was never signed and Pie got a full chance to succeed? would we have won negative playoff games or had a 9 game swing to miss the playoffs? now we're stuck back at square one: hoping that Fukudome instead learns how to hit. and he's 7 years older and 30 times the cost. i'm not picking up on this paying off in spades you're talking about.
  12. thank you SSR, i feel like i'm taking crazy pills Felix proved beyond a shadow of a doubt with his first 15 ABs or whatever that he'd never be able to hit, but Edmonds 3 fer 97 start proved that he'd be a surefire source of production asinine
  13. i think ovechkin is probably the most "exciting" player, but datsyuk is probably a better all-around player. datsyuk isn't marketed because he isn't particularly marketable. he's not talkative or a good quote -- and he's russian -- so he doesn't get press. it's a shame, but as you say, it happens in every sport. Datsyuk just reminds me of the Bill James/Rickey Henderson quote. if you could split him into 2 players you still might get 2 all stars out of it. for somebody who puts up points like he does, he plays phenomenal in his own zone.
  14. Franklyn German is like a fatter Roberto Novoa
  15. actually, it's been frequently suggested that determination and will to live (or whatever you want to refer to it as) are significant factors in fighting cancer. i'm not too fond of your comparison.
  16. yeah, i don't know why anybody would want to watch two of the top five players in the game, averaging like 21 years old, facing off against each other on another unrelated note, Pavel Datsyuk's the best player in the NHL right now
  17. yeah I mean Brian McCann, yeah i mean Tom Glavine, yeah i mean Chipper Jones, yeah i mean Andruw Jones, yeah i mean Jermaine Dye, yeah i mean David Justice, yeah i mean KENT Mercker........
  18. and yeah, the Versteeg Calder talk can be put to bed already. he's playing for 2nd place at this point.
  19. they're all terrified of getting picked #1
  20. i think Hendry just loves Heilman because he pitched at ND and knows the guy who coached him or something
  21. like i said he looks small on tv
