i think ovechkin is probably the most "exciting" player, but datsyuk is probably a better all-around player. datsyuk isn't marketed because he isn't particularly marketable. he's not talkative or a good quote -- and he's russian -- so he doesn't get press. it's a shame, but as you say, it happens in every sport. Datsyuk just reminds me of the Bill James/Rickey Henderson quote. if you could split him into 2 players you still might get 2 all stars out of it. for somebody who puts up points like he does, he plays phenomenal in his own zone.

actually, it's been frequently suggested that determination and will to live (or whatever you want to refer to it as) are significant factors in fighting cancer. i'm not too fond of your comparison. -
yeah, i don't know why anybody would want to watch two of the top five players in the game, averaging like 21 years old, facing off against each other on another unrelated note, Pavel Datsyuk's the best player in the NHL right now
