  1. i'd have loved to plop him in Iowa for a season and re-teach him The Cub Way™
  2. Really? I thought we heard quite a bit about MIL having interest. The names I recall were LAA, PHI and MIL. One of my favorite memories was the walk off HR he hit against MIL, I was listening on XM while driving down the shore. The wife was asleep and I woke her up with my yelp of joy. the ball ended up about a half dozen rows behind me; maybe the best baseball moment i've ever experienced live
  3. Todd Haley fired
  4. i do believe!

  6. feels great to be the beneficiary of refs' ineptitude for ONCE in my entire life

  9. i love you Cam Newton
  10. pick-6 for the Phonz; good day to have the Lions D in fantasy 28-7
  11. 52 yard bomb to Titus Young on 3rd & 14 14-0 21-0 been awhile since i've seen us have a start like this
  12. strip-sack by Avril, recovered in EZ 7-0 Lions
  13. in 09, he manned 2B & OF for just 189.33 IP and amassed an abysmal -7.9 UZR (and somehow even worse TZ) at those two spots if he had just played his natural position at the same level of defense he's played throughout his career there, he'd have played at roughly a 2.7 WAR full-season level in 09 (2.4 in 08, 2.2 in 10)
  14. And plays sub-average defense. as evidenced by his plus ratings via UZR, TZ, DRS...really every advanced fielding metric (you're coming off as an ignorant, pompous ass right now) UZR has him at -3.4 fielding runs for his career, Baseball-Reference has him at -0.3 dWAR for his career. I guess Baseball Prospectus does have him as 0.1 FRAA for his career. fitting, that you've clearly you've had your fingers in your ears, shouting, the numerous times it was explained that his fielding WAR had been greatly hampered from playing out of position in 08 & 09

  16. Ray. I [expletive] hate Ian. Me too. WHAT [expletive] IAN GUY
  17. unlike the other cheap available options, he surely has the potential for more today's moves make me wonder why Theo hasn't dismissed Wilken; three recent very high picks of his he's let go without pause
  18. wow, career 11.3 k/9 and 6.1 h/9 for Weathers (and 7.1 bb/9) so, another Marmol!
  19. Troy Renck, Rockies @TroyRenck 8 mins Rockies have sent ian stewart and Casey weathers to cubs for tyler Colvin and DJ lamehieu

  21. the vast majority of the people on this board would have hated all of those signings except cj wilson. a reliever for 27 mil? jose reyes for over 100? pujols for 254? buerhle for almost 60? stop your whining, those are bad contracts. if we'd had a big SS need, i'd probably have liked Reyes' signing quite a bit
  22. so, the Angels - who plays? 1B: pujols OF: wells - trout - hunter DH: trumbo, abreu i really wonder if they'd part with Bourjos somehow; i'd for sure kick the tires, if that was a possibility

  24. i expected you instead to bold the last sentence for better emphasis
