  1. this Rams-Bengals game hurts to watch
  2. over 6 years? a few. BTB did a pretty good thing on this last year and determined a #11-25 overall (hitting) prospect to be worth $34M in surplus value http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2010/7/13/1567771/prospect-surplus-value Callis had Soler at the top of that threshold, and if you figure Cespedes to be even better, he might reasonably be worth close to $50M
  3. Hillis for sure
  4. i love this http://espn.go.com/mlb/hotstove11/story/_/id/7347878/the-book-prince-fielder "The Book," put together by the Scott Boras Corporation, details the free-agent slugger ...
  5. i just now noticed Dallas plays TB this week; as a Felix Jones (and Gerhart) owner, what terrific timing for him to regain his starting role!
  6. how will our pitchers know what to do now when they're on the mound?
  7. using the trade value chart, a #31 has the same value as #54 and #70, together (you're obviously going to disagree, but) i think it's pretty reasonable to say that his on-field play with the Bears would basically only have to justify that of a 54th overall pick, which he more than did
  8. I'd argue Olsen didn't outplay or play up to his draft position, but he's been worth more than a damn. i saw it as, he led the team in receiving TDs three straight seasons and then netted a high 3rd rounder via trade hard to complain too much about that from the 31st overall pick
  9. so...picks that have outplayed or played up to their draft position: Conte, Wright, Webb, Melton, Moore, Knox, Forte, Bennett, Steltz, Bowman, Davis, Olsen, Graham, Manning, Hester, Anderson
  10. i'd have loved to plop him in Iowa for a season and re-teach him The Cub Way™
  11. Really? I thought we heard quite a bit about MIL having interest. The names I recall were LAA, PHI and MIL. One of my favorite memories was the walk off HR he hit against MIL, I was listening on XM while driving down the shore. The wife was asleep and I woke her up with my yelp of joy. the ball ended up about a half dozen rows behind me; maybe the best baseball moment i've ever experienced live
  12. Todd Haley fired
  13. i do believe!
  14. that looks like an INT
  15. feels great to be the beneficiary of refs' ineptitude for ONCE in my entire life
  16. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. we're down to our 5th string RB right now
  18. i love you Cam Newton
  19. pick-6 for the Phonz; good day to have the Lions D in fantasy 28-7
  20. 52 yard bomb to Titus Young on 3rd & 14 14-0 21-0 been awhile since i've seen us have a start like this
  21. strip-sack by Avril, recovered in EZ 7-0 Lions
  22. in 09, he manned 2B & OF for just 189.33 IP and amassed an abysmal -7.9 UZR (and somehow even worse TZ) at those two spots if he had just played his natural position at the same level of defense he's played throughout his career there, he'd have played at roughly a 2.7 WAR full-season level in 09 (2.4 in 08, 2.2 in 10)
  23. And plays sub-average defense. as evidenced by his plus ratings via UZR, TZ, DRS...really every advanced fielding metric (you're coming off as an ignorant, pompous ass right now) UZR has him at -3.4 fielding runs for his career, Baseball-Reference has him at -0.3 dWAR for his career. I guess Baseball Prospectus does have him as 0.1 FRAA for his career. fitting, that you've clearly you've had your fingers in your ears, shouting, the numerous times it was explained that his fielding WAR had been greatly hampered from playing out of position in 08 & 09
  24. And plays sub-average defense. as evidenced by his plus ratings via UZR, TZ, DRS...really every advanced fielding metric (you're coming off as an ignorant, pompous ass right now)
