  1. Stafford has a broken index finger, fwiw
  2. ...Cam's having a phenomenal season, unless i'm to hold it against him that all of his defense besides the DEs is either injured or terrible
  3. Cutler won't miss any time
  4. Has Chris Harris played yet? yeah, maybe the coaching staff finally tired of Spievey diving at ball-carriers hoping they'd trip over him
  5. there's not a worse tackler in the NFL from the safety position than Amari Spievey i'm ready for Vanden Bosch to [expletive] up his neck again, too
  6. i'm about ready for Shaun Hill
  7. and our [expletive] abysmal special teams gives it right back
  8. Kevin Smith, how i've missed you
  9. that starting nine is a nightmare scenario
  10. i was thinking the same thing; a player can't really be much more outstanding or valuable to their team than he's been
  11. wow, Baylor just tied the game with a 87 TD pass on a crazy bounce right to another receiver
  12. top to bottom, this is the best we've looked in years
  13. So much irony not really, Denard actually looks good when throwing the ball, to whatever random destination it ends up going
  14. i'm going to get irrationally angry whenever Martinez does anything remotely competent passing seriously, look at this hideousness http://mgoblog.com/sites/mgoblog.com/files/4eaf5f944a47b_image1_thumb.jpg
  15. holy [expletive]...we kicked a 40 yarder
  16. Fielder would be a slight upgrade from Morse, who can't play anywhere else but 1B, was my main point if they want to spend, put it all towards pitchers who have actually been able to last through a full season of pitching; Wilson or Darvish make far more sense for them than Fielder
  17. love him
  18. Washington going after Fielder as opposed to say, Jose Reyes, would make absolutely no sense at all
  19. their net yardage on punts is middle of the pack, but the Bears are significantly rewarded in those rankings because of perceived weather factors i do not understand your hatred of the bears FBO is like the greatest thing to you, but when they mention weather factors it's "perceived" of course that really wasn't meant with any pejorative tone, my point was more that it's almost purely speculative to try to determine the impact of weather in punting aside from a plain outdoors/indoors standpoint, but i'll admit ignorance to their exact methodology for factoring that the Bears employ Rod Marinelli, a man specifically against whom i'll always wish miserable failure, but i don't know that my opinions about the team itself are wildly biased in any way
  20. since its inception?
  21. after thinking about this a little bit i actually think that uzr does account for position, at least it should, since it separates of'ers by position. i'm not sure if they're isolating position for context or relying solely on park factors here, but whatever it is IT'S NOT WORKING GUYS. yes, UZR does account for position - so Matt Holliday fares well not necessarily even because he's a good fielder, but rather he's good compared to Ibanez, Bay, Willingham, etc. but then that's all accounted for in positional adjustment
  22. you really missed the point if you thought they were being compared strictly as pitchers the point was that Wells' effectiveness combined with his cost-efficiency made him arguably nearly as valuable a commodity as Garza; of course he suffered some arm injuries last season and Garza had a breakout season so things have indubitably changed
  23. so then just trade him in three years for another change of scenery guy
  24. Scouting via play by play data. ok then, how many runs was Soriano's arm worth in '07?
  25. it really looks like Kelly, Rizzo (and Fuentes) and $160M for Adrian Gonzalez's 28-35 seasons is going to look like a steal when Pujols and Fielder end up signing
