  1. i thought this was a fun read
  2. that, and i don't think there's been a moment of consideration given to him ever stepping foot in the minors, unless to eventually rehab an injury or something truthfully, Castro and Rizzo are more prospects than this guy, with much further development still needed for both
  3. i don't know how you're supposed to try to compare a 32-year-old finished product to other players who all still have further development left to do
  4. 5) Christian Villanueva 6) Brett Jackson 7) Dan Vogelbach
  5. Toronto selects Alvido Jimenez seems like we got picked over pretty well
  6. Houston took Michael Burgess in the AAA portion, we passed
  7. only two walks surrendered in the past two years!
  8. http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/294/398/charles-woodson_display_image.jpg
  9. The gap between Cabrera and Barney isn't that much when you have the former for 2 years and the latter for 4... I don't think everybody else is as obsessed with rating time under control as some sort of skill to compare players as people on this board. There's a clearly better player in that comparison. great, then we can just trade Garza (the better pitcher) for Bauer
  10. "I've never pitched without pain. There's always a small problem with something. I have five scars inside my shoulder, and some nerve has to be touching those." -Anibal Sanchez
  11. just what i like to see, things made even easier for Ohio
  12. Riley Reiff might be our best run blocker, but he needs a little refinement in pass protection; he's not seeing the field yet in a starting capacity because Backus and Cherilus have been great at keeping Stafford clean, but i'm bullish on Reiff going forward
  13. as luck would have it, dew's kid's JV team actually needs a coach
  14. ...huh? while on the topic- our secondary yesterday: Drayton Florence, Ricardo Silva, Don Carey, Jacob Lacey; it took a superhuman display from Suh to mostly keep Luck in check for 3-1/2 quarters yeah, we could really use some better depth back there
  15. no, it was so crushing to my realistic playoff hopes that i still haven't fully recovered from the bitter anguish of it all
  16. should be pretty fun watching Taylor Lewan vs. JaDeveon Clowney, and if Lewan does get abused, maybe we'll get to keep him another year!
  17. i get to watch things like this every week http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/1874zfb6x06o9gif/original.gif
  18. i love that one simple 3-year deal proves a team's serious about winning; hell, if we give Michael Bourn the 7/120 he's asking for, then we'll be the super-duper-seriousest about winning (well, besides LA)
  19. not singling you out, but this makes me nuts, HOF comparisons for prospects with a bunch of qualifiers when there are much more reasonable players to compare them to "Beltran with 20/20 instead of 30/30 potential, but a better hit tool"; you're basically just describing Johnny Damon there Sheffield with more K's describes...every other power hitter that doesn't average a superhuman 60 strikeouts a season? he had 39 HR and 55 K in a season once!
  20. yeah, i have to think his draft stock took a little bit of a tumble Saturday
  21. Andrew Luck's pretty awesome and like that, my dreams of Dee Milliner stay alive
