  1. the more years, the better, for Liriano
  2. Honestly, I'm not. Neither am I. The Cubs seem way to conservative right now and there too many teams willing to drop stupid money. 2nd best bid on Cespedes, 2nd best bid on Darvish, best bid on Soler, (rumored) best bid on Puig, and of course Concepcion yeah, we're just being way too conservative with our monetary offers to international talent
  3. I wouldn't hesitate for a second; if it means getting Upton and Bauer I'm only holding onto Rizzo and Castro. yeah, pretty much. i'd be like Oprah with our prospects if they're seriously listening on those two guys
  4. if an OF robs a HR, did the pitcher do a good job against that hitter?
  5. it describes that he had an absurdly lucky ERA, completely out of line with everything else he's ever done it's insane to argue 71 innings of 3.08 FIP/3.39 xFIP was a better or more valuable performance than 171 innings of 2.86/3.30
  6. http://images.wikia.com/uncyclopedia/images/5/5c/Vomit.gif
  7. I am not even sure why they are ranked ahead of Michigan. I would imagine that Michigan is at least a touchdown favorite in that game. we're 13.5 pt favorites, which does seem a little batty
  8. just as good http://mgoblog.com/sites/mgoblog.com/files/images/Game-Column_A685/A60g2IVCAAEC-FZ1_thumb.png
  9. and he's still been our 2nd best back today; love Joique Bell
  10. well, this has been a very enjoyable game to watch
  11. Matt Barkley just set a record for most pump fakes on one play
  12. ffffuuuuu sparty
  13. that happens every single game
  14. man, Devin Gardner looks great...I'd love to know what coaches saw in Bellomy to move him to WR most likely, yeah; Home has a no-visits policy for commits
  15. i love this, lots http://www.damnlol.com/pics/814/9ed6ab287d691cb7aa391033f6dd9d1d.gif
  16. we were primed for contention this season on the backs of Marlon Byrd, Blake DeWitt, Randy Wells and Carlos Zambrano before Theo came and fucked it all up
  17. Well, since I already don't deserve them, I'l have some fun with arbitrary endpoints and stripping the context out of facts: Teams GMed by either Theo Epstein or Jed Hoyer have 0 playoff appearances in their last five seasons. you stripped the facts out of facts, too- Boston made the playoffs in 08 and 09
  18. I have no idea what that means, but [expletive] this [expletive] is depressing. are there any other sports you've ever wanted to try to pick up? this is the best time for it ever. there's absolutely no reason to pay attention to the cubs next year. even the "young guys" who will be around won't be the young guys who are interesting when we're good again. the only reasons to watch are to confirm that brett jackson can't be a real major league hitter and to make sure starlin castro and anthony rizzo don't get hit in the face by a line drive and die. i don't really understand why you're assuming we won't make any noteworthy acquisitions
  19. i have the feeling we'll both be cursing that week 3 game at the end of the year
  20. until Anzalone leaves
  21. Michigan's tied with Bama for #1 in the entire country for pass defense (yardage) obviously our schedule's helped that some, but we lost our best cover corner in like the 3rd snap of the season, have a walk-on safety starting, only have one capable pass-rusher (a LB), and play this guy: http://mgoblog.com/sites/mgoblog.com/files/UponFurtherReview2010DefenseVsPennState_AB86/death6.2.jpg i'm going to start a campaign for Greg Mattison to be awarded god status or something
  22. i guess there were passages in Moneyball that were kind of inflammatory toward scouting, and JP Ricciardi firing most of his scouts ruffled a lot of feathers
