  1. ugh, seeing Castro swing at that strike 2 pitch was physically painful
  2. wow, didn't know Valbuena had that in him
  3. good job stranding Lucroy there, at least
  4. Rod Beard‏@detnewsRodBeard12m Beilein: "Plan is to move Glenn Robinson III to small forward and play two big men." Walton | Stauskas | GRIII | McGary | Morgan Spike | Levert | Irvin | Bielfeldt | Horford is my guess Donnal probably red-shirts, btw dreamy.
  5. why can't that team contend for a title? i have to imagine we have a good chance for a better regular season next year
  6. why do you think it would have gone any differently?
  7. DeJesus trade value is what we should be exploring. And here's to hoping that Schierholtz can have a DeRosa-esque breakout and we cash him in July or the Winter. i don't imagine we'd get much for Schierholtz in a trade this winter
  8. Yeah, it does. But it's the only one that really bothers me. Darvish stings a bit too, but to a much lesser extent. We were right there with Cespedes (apparently) and just botched it. The Darvish scenario really doesn't bother me because of the blind bid nonsense. Cespedes...gah, it just makes me mad/sad. Things could easily be VERY different if they had pulled off that one signing. how so? ZiPS projects the guy for 3.2 wins...i'd actually like to know what exactly you see in him that's fostered the strange obsession you have
  9. Which is what I was expecting when they came on board. I'm not going to be satisfied with an above average performance from our superteam of a front office. eh, i had meant that in terms of a projection of what you'd expect from Theo/Jed specifically, but it's a nebulous point anyway that i didn't really word all that well
  10. Rizzo projects to be a premier 1B for the foreseeable future; there should probably be about a hundred > signs in this statement somebody needs to be; the lasting effects of his ineptitude are (imo) unquestionably the main reasons we're in the position we are today managing to sign Cespedes, and Darvish would have surely accelerated the process some but that would be like a 95th percentile performance for a GM
  11. And then when we let it drop, we won 61. just thought i'd let you know, you're being willfully ignorant here
  12. and we've done that to good success; Villanueva, Jackson, Schierholtz, Maholm, DeJesus, Fujikawa all immediately come to mind
  13. our highest-ever payrolls netted us 75-, 83-, and 71-win seasons; it's importance is really being vastly overstated
  14. there is no realistic easy way to make the team better in a hurry if you've got virtually nothing to speak of at the high levels of the minors the Angels have done exactly what many people here were desperate to see (only with the benefit of already having Trout in the fold); i'll be very interested to see how it all pans out
  15. payroll is repeatedly being presented here as the only important variable, in nearly every post it's just become so tiresome
  16. Castillo skies one that finally drops in no-man's land for a hit Rizzo scorches one right at Moreland who's only there holding the runner that's pretty representative of both's babip fortunes to start the year
  17. now Washington starts with the pitching changes, that son of a bitch
  18. well damn, i was mildly irked at Rizzo for jumping out of the way of the previous pitch and he goes and smokes one inches from landing on Sheffield
