We're giving up WAY too much there. No way do we trade Prior AND ARam for A-Rod. I don't think a single player in baseball is worth both Prior AND ARam. There are hardly any TWO players I would trade Prior and Ramirez for. Both young top notch talents yet to enter their prime. In virtually any acceptable scenario, we would be adding payroll AND getting older. The best I can come up with is Cabrera and Beckett/Dontrelle. Maybe. People are vastly underestimating Mark Prior. This is a guy who, after a disappointing season, has a career 3.24 ERA (better than Johan Santana, Carlos Zambrano or Curt Schilling) and 1.19 WHIP who will be 25 for most of next season. Have we forgotten how rare this is? His career numbers across the board mirror those of Roger Clemens. His baseball intelligence is through the roof and he is highly disciplined. It would be hard to trade this guy straight up for ANYONE, and pretend that it gives our team a better chance to win the world series in the next five years. You advocate not only trading this man away, but tossing in the heart of our lineup, a .300 hitter, our enigmatic center fielder and a live bullpen arm.................................................................................for one man? No thank you.
