  1. Saw some stupid power rankings of playoff team lineups. Seemed at least somewhat thought out, factoring in current injuries, platoons, etc. but then they ranked the Cubs 5th,well behind the #2 Pirates, calling Starling Marte an emerging star. Cubs players in tonight's lineup with higher OPS than Starling Marte: Fowler Schwarber Coghlan Rizzo Bryant Baez and Montero is .004 behind
  2. This one will feature dongs. Long dongs that will cause mass hysteria.
  3. Would really love to see Baez incinerate a baseball sometime.
  4. Okay. Let's not give any runs right back.
  5. Well, this is a good start.
  6. Actually laughed out loud. Then started choking. Would love to see Edwards get a start.
  7. What a list. Miguel Cairo played 16 seasons in the majors? I had no idea.
  8. Just want to use this opportunity to reiterate my support of LaStella. A couple of years ago he had a ridiculous K/BB ratio in the AFL and i did some back-of-the-napkin analysis to determine that he would be a HOFer. Advocated that the Cubs somehow acquire him. Now they have, and the journey towards induction day has begun. Seriously, though, id wager he will be a high OBP guy if he ever gets an extended look.
  9. I was already calculating his updated OPS and WAR. Sigh.
  10. Je. Baez and Almora with some serious helium to end the season. Would love to hear about any adjustments Almora has made.
  11. Probably just the fact that he was a project and has come into his own as a Cub.
  12. So much more pumped for Arrieta than if this were Lester.
  13. what? lieber was legitimately really [expletive] good Yeah not sure what I was remembering there, ah well He was excellent in his first stint with the Cubs. When he came back in '07 (?), I think he was pretty much done.
  14. I really had no idea that Babe Ruth was going to join the Cubs this season.
  15. I think Justin Upton is possibly due for a big 2nd half. He is hitting RHP better than ever this season and has strangely struggled in a small sample against LHP. Likely to normalize, I believe.
  16. And Schwarber is #41. Not sure about that list.
  17. Flipped on the game just in time to see him rounding the bases. :banghead:
