  1. Yeah, I wish I were less of a diehard Cubs fan, cause I really feel tempted to jump ship right now... they'll be contending for years even if they never get any pitching... :( Their managment is more demented then ours. They mest around with BJ Uptons positioning, They messed around with Justins. Not to mention BJ is starting the year in AAA for reasons that dont seem all that important. They could be one heck of a team if they put all of that talent together... BJ Upton is in the D Rays system
  2. Technically, 4/5 of them are or were from Chicago :D If we all refuse to believe Julian pitched for the Cubs, maybe it will come true.
  3. Damn, that is a classic Wish I had come with that one. OK, I'll admit it. I don't get it.
  4. Yes, it's been pointed out a couple times. But CubsWin is trying to say it wouldn't have been a bad move had it not been an error. Sorry, didn't see that one. Anywho, it would have been a crap move.
  5. Probably because they're both young. Old people do goofy things like that.
  6. Has anyone else pointed out that he was NOT added?
  7. The Farns belongs, but no Alou?
  8. I understand the quantity is there, I was more referring to the quality of '02 that was mentioned. Until those mentioned above actually project to be star players, color me unimpressed.
  9. Did you see the program before Dahm? You're spot on with the facilities comment, but his coaching and recruiting is leaps and bounds better than his predecessors.
  10. It's just like the logging companies who plant 2 trees for every 1 they cut down. It seems as though the Cubs have been doing the opposite.
  11. From a Cards fan?!?!?!
  12. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go tonight either. I haven't been able to find pitching probables either, so my guess for Thursday is Hill. And I think you're absolutely right about Dahm. The past couple of seasons are the first times I've heard anyone mention anything about Hawkeye baseball (even in Iowa City) since probably around 1990. It would be pretty darn sweet to see them in Omaha sometime.
  13. How do the Cards not have those question marks? Their SS isn't a world beater, and their RF is "crap". What's so special about their starting pitching?
  14. He's probably throwing tonight to stay on normal rest to make a start on April 15 at Pittsburgh.
  15. Thank you for pointing out the obvious.
  16. And my bold prediction is that Iowa will build a 17-run lead and will lose on a 3-run HR in the bottom of the 9th, 2 out, 0-2 count. You know, typical Hawkeye stuff.
  17. I wouldn't. Len has a good sense of humor and has been gracious enough to do a Q&A here, but he is terrible in the booth. I'd rather listen to Ron and Brenly.
  18. Game isn't until tomorrow, and the game thread is already on its 2nd page. I LOVE BASEBALL!
  19. Actually that sounds about right. He hit his prime in his mid-to-late 20's and his body fell apart after 30. So then why is Nomar falling apart at 31 a sign of steroids? I didn't say it was, but you used an extremely poor example as your point of reference.
  20. Kauffman is beautiful and wasted by having the Royals call it home. The Metrodome should go unnoticed. In fact, it should go away.
  21. Actually that sounds about right. He hit his prime in his mid-to-late 20's and his body fell apart after 30.
  22. Not cool. I like Nomar, and wish he was less frail. Seconded. Third. You can't triple stamp a double stamp, Lloyd...
  23. Pat and Ron are an awesome team. I wish they did the TV games.
  24. Quoted for hilarity.
  25. Of course he praises speed. He managed a track team in a cavernous stadium and had an awful lot of success. It was a much different game when he managed.
