  1. What's worse -- Mitre as your #2 or Glendon Rusch?
  2. How long has he been a catcher? He's bound to make some mistakes and have bad days.
  3. If this is true, I highly doubt the criteria will be get to or win world series. I bet the playoffs will be more than enough. So you think it will take more than an 82-80 finish? I'd like to know exactly what "results" JH wants to see.
  4. For some reason it seems to me the only reason he was singled out was because he was a lefty, not because he was considered superior to some of the others (Guzman, for example). I just don't remember where I heard/read that.
  5. Barrett was traded to Oakland before the Cubs. The Cubs traded Damian Miller for Barrett. I remember it well. It was announced that they traded Miller to Oakland for a PTBNL, then I heard Oakland traded Barrett to the Cubs for a PTBNL.
  6. Um, I believe you're referring to the Murton deal.
  7. AWESOME! http://www.hockeyfights.com/forums/images/smilies/expressive/applause.gif
  8. Hmm, looks like Dusty filled out their lineup.
  9. He's overmatched and crap! Wait, wrong player and thread.
  10. Maybe they're all injured.
  11. When no one knows how to pitch you? Yes, you do get lucky. I'm quite sure all of his hits did not come because pitchers were throwing down the middle because they didn't know where his holes were.
  12. Cedeno is not crap, plain and simple. You don't get lucky through AAA, the big leagues AND the winter league. One, maybe. Not all 3.
  13. One of my Cards friends and I were talking about him a couple of nights ago. He seems to think Jimmy will hit 320 with 35 HRs. I told him to expect 260 and maybe 20-25, so no, you are not alone. (By the way, he hit 263 last year)
  14. Well, allow me to retort. OK, I have absolutely no idea what you just said.
  15. I'm afraid to go in there -- I'm already married to enough women.
  16. Yes they were, doctors weren't able to diagnose most of them. A lot of modern sports "problems" are relatively new to medicine over the past 5-25 years, and it's not because they just started happening. It's because advances in the field have finally made it possible to know what's happening.
  17. I don't know. As far as I know, the official scorer is the only one who matters, not Stats Inc.
  18. Do you happen to have a link to that? If I recall, there were some pretty good ones in there for both Juan and Murton.
  19. But if a SS throws the ball in the dirt on the back half of a DP and the 1B can't pick it, the SS doesn't get an error, right? How is that different than the 1B dropping it? Official scorer's discretion. Had it been an extremely close play, there probably would have been no error because you cannot assume the DP. However, if it's not a close play, it's the same as any other play where a fielder throws to him. If he drops it when, in the scorer's opinion, the out would definitely have been recorded, it is an error.
  20. OK, took a while but I get it now. An obscure reference to someone from the 18th century isn't all that funny in my book.
  21. I must say I am not a big fan of HD because the nearest one is completely unorganized. Plus, Lowe's is less than 3 minutes from my house.
