Any thoughts on Dusty re-signing? I've always been of the opinion that Hendry was looking for the right time to extend Dusty. As of now, I don't know when that time would come. See, this is embarrassing. Rather than take the extra few weeks that the Cubs have been playing like crap as a hint to reevaluate the team and the possibility of signing Baker, Hendry just puts it off until the Cubs string together a few good games. Then, he can give Baker his extension and blame the losses on injuries. This is why I say they won't get it until people stop going to games. The problems are the same every year, and instead of changing the two most important positions within the organization - GM and manager - they give out extensions. If I did my job as poorly as Hendry and Baker have done their jobs, I'd be scanning the classified section right now. There's no punishment for failure within this organization, and no accountability. The whole thing is one sad joke. Um, you're a meteorologist. Isn't coming close the main goal in your profession? :P
