  1. Probably the wrong thread, but I've been on vacation and out of the loop for a bit. But have any of the Prior or Lee or other promotions had any 40-man impact? Was Prior on the 60-day DL, or am I wrong about that? If so, who got bumped when he got called up? It was Rusch for the 25-man roster, I guess, but that wouldn't help with the 40-man. Or am I all crazy, and Prior was never on the 60-day, nor Lee either? If somebody needed bumping, I'd figure Jose "I'm-even-a-long-shot-to-blossom-into-Paul-Bako-hitter" Reyes would be the best candidate, although Jerome Williams or Theriot could be fair alternates as well. If Miller eventually does come back, that too will need to bump one of those guys, or maybe Dopirak could be another candidate. Neither Prior nor Lee were on the 60. Rusch was DL'd when Prior was activated, and Fast Freddie Bynum was DL'd when Lee was activated.
  2. Care to elaborate on that ? I will... ...big time.
  3. I'd say Barrett and Zambrano both deserve a nod. Barrett's put up some pretty good numbers, and Zambrano's numbers look amazingly good considering the rough start he had.
  4. How about: "I am an idiot for being here"
  5. I'd rather have a guy like Theriot on the team than Neifi or Womack. Fontenot deserves a shot too. 308/396/452
  6. Ixnay on the urvingcay ickedlyway. Ustyday may use that as an excuse.
  7. Truer words may never have been spoken.
  8. You don't win a game in which you're one-hit without being lucky. Every single thing goes the White Sox way. Sure, good teams might make their own luck, but this is ridiculous. When that 1 hit is a HR and coupled with great pitching, yes you do. Good teams win games.
  9. In the true spirit of the Cubs, I swung at every pitch and rarely had a productive outcome.
  10. Nice. Very Walker-esque: 2005 - 305/355/474 Career - 290/349/438
  11. Cubs win, 11-2. Wait, I just realized they have a soft-tossing lefty and we're trotting a 60 year old out there. Cubs lose, 386-1.
  12. Jim Duquette made the deal. He's now with Baltimore. Well does Baltimore have any good prospects we could trade for? They have that Patterson kid in CF.
  13. This is what I asked in the Len chat. Sounds like Bob may be getting close...
  14. I don't get it. Do we have one now?
  15. Hey, you never know. Everyone thought Zazmir was untouchable and they pretty much gave him away. Minaya's in charge now. I doubt we'll see a repeat.
  16. We have 51 less BB than the next lowest? 51?!?!
  17. Phew, up to 16th in OBP. Wait a minute...
  18. Link This video is crazy. And for those of you who think the Cubs need a manager with more "fire", this is what you're missing.
  19. Wow. Just wow.
  20. He hasn't been used much? Are you kidding? He's played in nearly 50 games, is on pace for more than 350 at bats, and is actually having a worse season than last year. Plus, he's owed $2.5m next year, in addition to the rest of this year's deal. He absolutely sucks, plays way too much, and handicaps the future. Don't sugar coat how much he hurts this team, because he does, immensely. And sometimes he's not very good.
  21. Maybe the Cobs should try cheating.
  22. And there is the problem. Searching through your more valuable commodities for who has options rather than cutting ties with the dead weight that serves no purpose.
  23. And to expand a bit, a 650 OPS guy could do the very same.
  24. Derrek Lee spent most of his time batting 3rd 1 - 299 2 - 314 I actually started to post those numbers, but they started to make me angry so I stopped. Who was the .314? Team average. Neifi led the charge at 300, Walker was next at 351, Patterson 3rd with an astounding 220...
