  1. Yes, he stopped after '04.
  2. Womack was on fire earlier this year too.
  3. The others listed in the top 5 should be enough to tell you that it's way too early to salivate over that list. Um, this poll has quite frankly scared the crap out of me. I shall not be voting.
  4. I don't know that performance tests are necessarily needed to prove that a stronger person will hit a ball farther. Steroids are probably more often taken for the healing effects which I would guess was the major reason pitchers juiced. So you're suggesting it is a linear relationship? Arnold should be able to hit the ball a country mile, then, right? It depends on what they're taking and how they're taking them. Alex Sanchez was likely not doping in the same way that Barry was, therefore he won't have the power spike. He probably had some nagging injury that was slowing him down a little and wanted a quick heal.

  6. I see MLB finally passed that "Henry Blanco must be in your starting lineup every day" rule. I was getting worried for a second that he'd end up riding some pine while young guys played in his place.
  7. We signed Jacque Jones???
  8. I think that's something most of us can agree on.
  9. So I finally just finished watching Oklahoma - Oregon on ESPN Classic. Man, did the Sooners get screwed. There ought to be some sort of investigation of the idiot in the replay booth.
  10. Damn you, I was going to point that out.
  11. Then you must be rooting for Syracuse because they are not in the top ten....I have no idea why. Wow...no Illinois guys out there, just basketball fans, eh? You're the 3 point favorite so far. If both teams play like they did last week, Cuse will win by 2 TD's. That is, if they can actually score 2 TD's... Well, I was close.
  12. HAWKS WIN!!! (I'm pretty confident saying that at :34 with a 10 point lead)
  13. Dammit!
  14. And thats YOUR opinion. I disagree with that. Is that ok? If you want to be wrong, sure. Im not wrong, and you're not right either. Depends on how a person judges a pitcher. I judge a pitcher by Wins, IP, BAA, WHIP, and the number of starts(30-35). And I'll take Pitching Runs Created along with date of birth, height, weight, and eye color and would still have a better idea who was the better pitcher. I know more about pitching than you do. So I highly doubt you could judge a pitcher better than me. I know more about internet technologies, message boards, etc. than you. So I really think you should stop posting. What the hell are you talking about? It was about your holier than thou, I know more than you do crap. It's tired, it really shows your immaturity, and it definitely needs to stop. Vance is allowed to have an opinion on pitching even though he isn't one (and he is correct by the way), and you shouldn't act so arrogant in your defense of your opinion. You DON'T know more about pitching than hundreds if not thousands of people who share the same opinion that Vance has. Once again, most of us played baseball. Many of us played college ball, some probably even professionally. A lot of us have been playing and coaching successfully for a lot longer than you have been alive. Get off the high horse and defend your opinions with facts.
  15. Fearless prediction: Shortest game thread, maybe ever.

  17. "I'd do it, but I threw my back out humping your mom last night. Nooch."
  18. Where was Cedeno in this dream? Pitching.
  19. It's too late to add Stairs to the playoff roster.
  20. Is there a young and good Luis Gonzalez that I don't know about? I would have to say no thanks to the one who was juiced a few seasons ago and is now in his 60s.
  21. Shame on all who badmouth Glenallen Hill. Dunn in LF, Murton in RF, Someone who can cover a whole lot of ground as well as get on base a lot in CF, Soriano at 2B, Tejada at SS, some healthy pitchers, and we're set.
  22. Wade walked 3, 1 of them was on base when the HR was hit. The other 2 walks came in (I believe) the 4th, and no further damage was done. Marmol came in and gave up a couple of hits before Drew went deep. The rest of the bullpen only allowed 2 walks (no hits) over the next 3 2/3. Ignoring Marmol's performance, it was actually a very well-pitched game yesterday. Edit: It was Marmol, not Mateo.
  23. See what living in St Louis does to you???
  24. Hopefully it's a blowout and we see lots of Christensen in the 2nd half. Man, I hate Iowa State. Hopefully its a blowout just like last year. :P Go ISU!!! You watch your mouth, mister! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c263/mgoedken/ISU.jpg
  25. perhaps you should look at what some 1st place teams (oakland, cards, detroit) are trotting out there at 2b and then tell me why theriot could only be a starter for the yankee's at 2b. Perhaps you should not put words in my mouth. I never said he could only be a starter for the Yankees. then what does this mean? That's what it means.
