  1. Hitting .286 with 28 homers and 117 RBI's is hardly suckage, but he was terrible last year and was terrible in ST this year and is now a defensive liability. Hitting .286 but almost never taking a walk puts your OBP in Neifi-esque territory (.311). He made up for it in part with the power numbers that year. But he's not a guy I'd be running out to acquire.
  2. Oh. Heh. So is it still possible to play the game against my opponent even without a "full" line-up? I'm pretty sure you'll say yes, but I've gotta check. So basically it takes a week worth of games then we score at the end of the week? When's the first "scoring" day for us? Yes and today is the first scoring day. You don't have to have your lineup full and you can intentionally keep guys out of the lineup.
  3. 3 hours before the draft? You're joking, right?
  4. Y! says the transfer to your new email is complete.
  5. If his last name is Ethier or Kemp - all the better.
  6. I emailed Y!, they asked for the new info, which I provided today. Let me know if it works.
  7. Just create a new Y! ID and PM it to me. I'll email Y! to see if they'll switch.
  8. I hit him 5th and put JJ 7th, but now we're nit-picking.
  9. Only one person is throwing more than one reliever per week, and Putz is just as good a bet as half the guys they're throwing to pick up saves. Besides, there just wasn't any value using a pick on BJ Ryan or somebody when guys like Ben Sheets were on the board. Putz is having an elbow problem right now. Might want to consider picking up another closer. He's gonna be back for opening day. Failing at that, these guys left Chris Ray, Brian Fuentes, Joe Borowski, and Todd Jones on the wire. Pick up Ray, do it quickly. Why? Putz had better k/9, bb/9, and hr/9 ratios. Not only that, but PECOTA has Putz pegged for a 3.35 ERA next year, whereas Ray is pegged at 3.99. I'll take my chances in the first few weeks of the season with Putz, cause the rest of it shouldn't be a contest. It seems that everyone is thrown off by your league b/c most leagues require 2 RPs and usually teams have 3 or more. So having just 1 seems very odd. But if that's what everyone in the league is doing, I guess it makes sense.
  10. While I would fully support such a move, I would be shocked, SHOCKED, if it happened.
  11. I think it has to. I don't see him being a long reliever. Maybe they DL him?
  12. New Era - Can you log in yet? Can you email Y! to see if they can re-assign your team to a different ID? If we're going to try to fix this, we need to get it done ASAP.
  13. I really don't care, so I'll go with the majority. My concerns with doing it through the board - how do we determine draft order, and can we really get it done in a few days?
  14. Actually later in the day guarantees that I'll be in the middle of family activities. ditto
  15. sorry, missed CT's earlier post. I vote for Sunday at 2pm.
  16. Um...let's confirm the draft for Sunday at 2, Chicago time.
  17. He's going to be a backup this year, so he's not being counted on to do much.
  18. I don't think we need to do an autopick. Just pick a time (I'm still leaning toward an afternoon, esp Sat or Sunday) for a live draft. Anyone who can't make it can pre-rank and their team will be auto-picked. That's how live drafts usually work. That would also be fine with me. I'd have to prerank if we wait until the weekend, but as long as no one minds me playing matchups off the waiver wire everyday, that's fine with me. Why would you have to play matchups if we auto-pick? If we all autopick, I wouldn't. If most of us live draft and I autopick, I'm inevitably going to end up with a subpar player at one or two positions. I see what you mean.

  20. He asked for his release, but I don't think he actually retired. That's right. Can't image the list of potential suitors is long though.

  22. This has always been one of my favorite Farnsworth memories. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN199908290.shtml man, that lineup was sick, heh. Wow: L Johnson CF J Blauser SS S Sosa RF M Grace 1B G Hill LF T Houston C G Gaetti 3B C Meyers 2B K Farnsworth P Even better, the Dodgers lineup had 5 future Cubs in it. Eric Young Todd Hollandsworth Eric Karros Todd Hundley Mark Grudzielanek. When I first opened the link I thought "I didn't realize EY and Grudz were here at the same time." Then I realized I was looking at the wrong lineup.
  23. Couldn't disagree more. What'd be the point?
  24. Teahen is playing the OF and Gordon 3B. Exactly - I think he's been playing OF primarily in ST b/c they wanted to give Gordon a good look. Teahen will be 3B and OF eligible in most leagues within a few weeks.
  25. Didn't his primary competition for the job (Lee) just retire? Pretty bad when you lose your shot at a starting gig to DY.
