  1. I'm not against erik joining, personally. I just want there to be an even number of teams. So when we were trying to schedule the draft and didn't schedule it this weekend b/c it didn't work, I thought he was already in the league. Now that we have 10 teams, if someone comes along before the draft and we'd have 12 - great. But I don't want an odd number (and he's already said he won't join if it makes an odd number). As for the draft - let's just schedule it already. If it starts before 4pm EST, I can do it any day this week or next weekend except Wed (3/28) - it'd have to start in the early afternoon that day. If everyone else wants to do it later than that on any day, I'll just autopick if I have to. But let's just do it already so we can have the league running before the season starts (ie - have players off waivers before Monday so you can correct any drafting miscues before the first week).
  2. As far as I can tell, once you've had the draft, all the managers are locked in. If you are in a league that hasn't had its draft yet, you'll see on the league page that you can delete your team if you want. If we hadn't had the draft yet, we could delete New Era's team and he could create a new account and join the league again. But once the draft happens, you can't delete your team and it can't be deleted by the commissioner either (I think in public leagues, Y! will step in and lock your team if you're misbehaving - that happened to one of the teams in one of my fantasy hoops leagues this year and the commissioner of a private league can lock managers or make roster edits for another team - add/drops & move starters to the bench and vice versa). As for keeper leagues, from what I can tell in Y!, you don't actually keep the team on Y!'s system. It's something the commissioner would have to keep track of separately and at the start of each season, each team probably drafts its keepers in the first rounds (so if each team had 3 keepers, the first 3 rounds would be each team selecting those keepers and the real draft of the rest of the players would start at round 4). I'm in a keeper basketball league, but this is the first season, so I don't know exactly how it works, but I don't think my team is going to be held over by Y!'s system. If anyone has any ideas other than the 2 I posted earlier, let me know. Maybe New Era can email Y! and ask to have the team transferred to another Y! account or something. I don't really want the team to sit idle b/c that will skew the results for everyone else. So if New Era can't have the team transferred, we'll probably have to re-create the league.
  3. I'm in the 5-10 crowd. And all you people who slow down when I come up on you in the left lane, I'm not tailgating, I just think you are farsighted - so I want you to be able to see that I'm back here waiting patiently for you to get the #&($ out of my way.
  4. This was my favorite part...well, this and at the end with JP compares himself to Jesus.
  5. By the way you were talking about the draft, I thought you had already signed up. I'm a little leery of the "sign up and hope someone else comes along" option. I really don't want to have an odd number of teams. But what do other people think?
  6. Did you set up a Y! account for like DSL service or did you just go to Yahoo.com and register an email account? If the former, I don't know what you did or how to help. If you just set up an email account, you should be able to sign in anywhere you have internet access. Given your errors messages, it sounds like the former, which could be a problem. If you can't get this resolved, I don't know what to tell you. The Commissioner (me, for this league) can add/drop players for other teams and edit their rosters (but not make trades), which I'm happy to do once in a while, but I don't think it'll work for the entire season. The only options I can think of are a) delete this league, create another one, have everyone sign up there, and I'd have to enter the draft results as if we had an offline draft, or b) hope you resolve this issue or just let your team sit idle all season. Someone else see another resolution?
  7. We have 10 - I move that we cap it here rather than risk ending up with an odd number. It sounds like we either need to draft via the board or a chat or something. Our schedules seem too different to live draft. Just my thoughts.
  8. I don't think he apoligized for beating his wife and drinking & driving either. Still I'd rather have a wife beating lush at SS over Izturis. I don't think I've ever wished for a wife beating lush. Don't think I'll start now.
  9. Didn't he walk all 3? Ugh - if he has any value, let's trade him.
  10. I have Paps in 2 leagues, 1 in which I really needed saves help. So this is good news. Though I hope they don't ruin the kid's career by repeating last year's workload. Are you "Hawk For The Hall" in "NSBB League"? I am browsing teams right now looking for potential trades and noticed Paplebon and thought "Man, he's only really got one closer" No - I'm Dragons in NSBB 2007. I now have 4 closers (Nathan, Ryan, Paps, Torres).

  12. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2007/news/story?id=2808345 Boston named Papelbon their closer again.
  13. Is this keeper league going to make it into next season? Does everyone intend to play again next year?
  14. I'd have no problem with doing a draft on nsbb. But if we do that, we should get started relatively quickly. I saw that one league drafting for 3-4 weeks.
  15. Exactly. And those that could never seem to get it used his nickname - Shark.
  16. If it's this coming weekend I can't participate till 530 Saturday or 330 Sunday. This coming monday I'm free, as well as next thursday during the day. However, I'd want at least 12 teams if I were to join. Deepest apologies to CT for being a major pain in the ass. I assume you're talking central times. If so, I can't do a draft that starts that late in the afternoon this weekend. If we can move it up (starting no later than 2pm central time either day), great. Otherwise, I'd have to autopick, which sucks. And we're up to 8 - so we have a real league. I'm prefer 10-12, but whatever it is, we need to cap it at an even number.
  17. Can't say that's my favorite quote of the spring...
  18. Again - I'd prefer earlier afternoon on the weekend (start around 1/2 EST). But, unless the rest of the people who said they were interested actually join, I'll drop out. I don't have much interest in a 4-team league.
  19. My two favorite decisions are Murton as #2/Izturis #8, and Theriot making the team. I really feel that he's going to play performers, not just veterans as you know who did. If Murton gets 500+ ABs and the vast majority of them are in the 2-hole, that will be my favorite decision. I'm not sold that will happen.
  20. You got Carl Crawford with the 19th pick? Nice.
  21. You're ok it's still daylight. All I know is - I'm without premium today so I want a 16 cent refund!!! [/heavy sarcasm]
  22. Bill Raftery? Is that a joke?
  23. You need more SP (is this H2H or roto? Is there a Max IP?). I'd say add 2-3 more SPs, depending on if there's a Max on IP. I really like the 3 you have, but you'll need at least 5. You should be fine with closers as long as Jones doesn't lose his job. Cuddyer is 1B eligible and if he equals or improves on last season, he's fine there. Teahan should also be fine at 3B (not great but won't kill you). If his second half is any indication, he'll be a great pick for the late rounds. Trade away one of your current starting OFs and Barrett for SP and a better 2B. I think Rocco, Cuddyer, and Markakis would start on most teams in a 10-team league. If you put Cuddyer at 1B and trade away 1 OF, that still leaves you either Markakis or Baldelli as a 5th OF (with Damon at util). And Hall will be OF eligible early in the season, so you could put him out there and Renteria at SS too. You may want to trade away 2 OFs. If there's a DL spot (which there should be), put Johnson on it when the season starts and pick up another player.
  24. I think weekend days tend to work best (in my somewhat limited experience). My bigger question is - why have only 4 people actually registered for this league?
  25. Apparently Cots. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=39079
