  1. If there are 4 superconferences, isn't your preference: ACC, PAC, BIGX, SEC? God no. Why would you think that? what's your preference?
  2. If ND joins the Big Ten, it becomes regional. Half or more of it's games are like a 4-hour bus ride from SB. ACC schools are generally a better fit.
  3. If there are 4 superconferences, isn't your preference: ACC, PAC, BIGX, SEC?
  4. UCONN reportedly already asked to be in the ACC too. If we have to join a conference, be #16 in the ACC or PAC12 please.
  5. Those teams have to play somewhere. It doesn't have to be a disaster.
  6. Felt good to finally beat a team that you dominate. But Rees needs to accept his limitations and stop trying to throw on the run or really anytime his feet aren't totally set. Kid is a TO machine.
  7. More. The first 2 games were more than a TO per quarter.
  8. Mayock is actually really good. Missed that obviously.
  9. Finally! Kelly figured out which card he needs to get rid of to turn things around. http://i52.tinypic.com/k03skk.png
  10. 2 TOs? I scoff at that. Toledo has a long way to go if they want to be in ND's class.
  11. I wonder how many bloggers and other journalist types "reported on" Hendry's firing months before it happened. Pretty crowded limb he was out on.
  12. Snood brings the thunder. Love it. And loved the GHD quote sulley.
  13. It'd be great if we could point to 1 thing or a couple serial offenders. But at this point, it's anyone's guess as to who fucks up next. Even the long-snapper, who'd never had a bad snap, muffed 2 in a row. Gary Gray, a 5th year with 2+ years starting suddenly can't win a single "throw it up for grabs" (or even turn his [expletive] head around). It's uncanny. If I didn't have such experience with a truly cursed team, I'd think ND was cursed. Maybe the ghost of Declan Sullivan is seeking his revenge. I mean he caused Riddick to fumble the last KO just to keep the 5 TO streak going.
  14. 3 straight weeks of 500 yards of offense and 5 TOs? We can only hope.
  15. They're the Rockets. The Mudhens are Toledo's minor league baseball team. oh come the [expletive] on
  16. Today we are all Mudhens or whatever Toledo's mascot is.
  17. These conference names are so messed up. I propose new ones: Pac 10/12/16 - Greedy SEC - Cheaty Big 10/1G - Dopey Big 12...10...9...8 - Missouri Valley South
  18. You mean other than the Grizzlies winning their first ever playoff game and series and coming 1 win from the WCF. Also the Preds won their first ever playoff series and played Detroit tough in the 2nd round. Finally, Bruce Pearl got fired. So no Bill, Tennessee has had enough good sports news over the last 4 frickin months. By pick apart, do you mean, support his argument?
  19. I have a couple thoughts quickly. One, people are paying an isp to access the internet and don't want to pay again for content they can get elsewhere for no additional cost. Like TV, if you want to charge a premium, you need to deliver the goods. As for lawyers, clients bitch about legal costs every day. Excessive cost is the #1 stereotype about lawyers, isn't it? I'm surprised someone would take offense at another's complaint about the cost of their services.
  20. You've been here too long to not have known TT was going to hand you your ass with his response.
  21. he and aj hawk should have a death match where it's required that both participants lose.
  22. I hate the packers as much as anyone. but you have to give them a little credit for drafting a qb that would be willing to sit behind farve (you're retired, i'm spelling it the right way you backwoods hick) and not be a huge [expletive] during the retirement years. there's some luck there, but you don't draft eli manning into that situation.
  23. I agree that we should have gone last year, but things have definitely changed since then whether you want to believe it or not. You call it throwing a tantrum, I call it securing our future. Nebraska & Colorado did it without a problem. It seems like everyone else is trying to make us special. No one threatened to sue last year. OU is obviously talking to other conferences right now, but no one is threatening to sue there. There is NOTHING we are reneging on. When asked if we were committed to the conference last year, our president said we were committed AS IT WAS AT THE TIME. That was before Nebraska & Colorado left. And OU is obviously looking alsewhere. Are they throwing a tantrum and reneging too? Wait, you're not trying to get out of the tv contract you signed last year? If you're not breaching the deal, why is baylor suing?
  24. I hear you. I mean, a school [expletive] up another school's well-being out of pure self-interest and maybe a little spite. Who would do such a thing? Assholes.
  25. I can’t tell what you’re getting at with this. How do you think that move impacts Notre Dame? And that Big East scenario would be worlds better than the SEC. Keep the traditional rivals, plus the Big East gets strengthened big time with a conference championship game, and by adding the STL/KC markets. The basketball conference would be insane, and the divisions break out perfectly in football and almost perfectly in hoops(Villanova or Georgetown probably moves to the West). Yeah, I'm a bit confused by the point Andy's trying to make, as well. Clarification? The whole "ND might be forced to join a conference" meme was based on the thesis that the Big East would collapse with the advent of superconferences. My point was that if the Big East strengthens themselves by adding those 3 teams - and if they're willing to allow ND to keep its nonfootball sports - football conference membership might not be necessarily inevitable. Not really. ND will join a conference for football if they can't have a tv deal or schedule the games they want to as an independent. If the Big East collapses, a lot of those basketball programs will still need a home and ND is good enough in hoops to go into whatever conference that is. I don't think ND's football fate is closely tied to the Big East at all. And I'm not sure this would be a 'meme' would it?
