  1. Just like Communism Do you realize that you're ruining the joke by explaining it?
  2. I think that's true but I can't blame them. They may see it as necessary for their job security.
  3. Can't I make fun of both schools from my ivory tower? More like ivory toilet
  4. Probably to your mom's house if the line isn't too long. Well I had sex with your wife. Ok, let's go back to search optimization.
  5. Probably to your mom's house if the line isn't too long. Over the line and you know it.
  6. They're stopping everything? That's funny. So bitter Bitter about ending up in a much better, infinitely more stable conference? Apparently. And let's not pretend that the conference is all smiles for your fb team. You just signed up to never play in a bcs game. Never once have I said that I expect to move the SEC and start winning a bunch of conference championships. Every Aggie I know and have talked to realize that it's going to be rough going on the football field for a few years, but it's not like we're going to be doormats, either. Is the sec breaking up in a few years or is TAMU already planning another escape?
  7. After the Pac-12 shot them down. It's loyalty by process of elimination. I don't think that's how it worked. Hard to say, but it sounds like the Pac got tired of waiting and feeling like a pawn. If Texas came back and said we'd like to join and share more revenue from the LHN, I'm not sure they could say yes fast enough. That was a direct shot at DeLoss Dodds & Co. Of course it was. But they met and waited 3 days to make the announcement. It's not like the Pac 12 immediately walked away. They walked away bc Texas and OU never got back to them (likely bc Texas was told during the meeting that the LHN was a problem). It's the implication that Texas is in some bad situation or couldn't get in to the Pac if it wanted to. Texas is right where it wants to be. An insanely easy path to bcs games and a conference it rules with money raining down all over campus. TAMU leaving has almost no effect on Texas at all.

  11. Not that anyone wants to read about realignment, but Texas basically admits that the big 12 is the only place where enough ADs will roll over and let them keep the LHN and the lion's share of that revenue. http://m.statesman.com/statesman/db_43073/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=FMay5Yqe Missouri will still probably jump at another conference, but the big 12 might hold another year or two.
  12. Nate Silver is a god and his word is gospel. maybe there is a better way/approach, but I sure don't see anyone providing one. You just like anything that has MN among the 100 most popular programs.
  13. It's because they're a borderline JUCO that has no fanbase or media markets of note. Their stadium seats 5000 less than the lowest BCS conference team(Cincy). They're currently increasing the seating capacity of the stadium, which will seat 53,000 when complete in time for the 2013 season. According to Nate Silver, they have a bigger fan base than TCU. Boise State is the #41 highest seller in collegiate apparel (for the first quarter of 2010-2011 fiscal year) as well. Academics is the excuse I hear the most, but frankly I think it's far more likely about geography. If they were located closer further south, I think they'd have a better chance. According to Nate Silver, Clemson has the 10th biggest fanbase in the coutnry. Nate Silver is a god and his word is gospel.
  14. I think it was at least 90% LHN. Revenue sharing from LHN, right? I read that somewhere.
  15. Man, Mizzou sticks out like a warm bag of feces in that group. lalala can't hear you I think he's saying that they're the only one of the four that would actually accept a big 10 offer.
  16. Whose laps?
  17. Essentially, be Arkansas part deux. Yeah I think that's right. Good luck.
  18. What's the best that Missouri can reasonably hope for in the sec? Finish ahead of vandy and Kentucky?
  19. Who would it be? Kansas Kansas St Iowa St Baylor Louisville Cincinatti UConn USF Rutgers TCU WVU I'd call it a slightly better Conference-USA. That conference isn't any worse than the Big East as it stands now - it's probably better, actually. In what world is that better than Pitt, Cuse, and TCU (assuming they still join)?
  20. The Little 12 How quickly we mock the less fortunate.
  21. It'd be great if OU and Texas hang out and things settle a bit. But that's probably not enough to keep Missouri happy if the bigx or sec come calling. I feel like a declaration that big/dramatic/preposterous by Oklahoma kind of tips their hand towards the Pac-12. They've got to be gone at this point. Why would they say that if they were already gone? What's the purpose of a noisy exit?
  22. It'd be great if OU and Texas hang out and things settle a bit. But that's probably not enough to keep Missouri happy if the bigx or sec come calling.
  23. Probably wouldn't have joined the sec if you'd have known such morons would be allowed in too.
  24. MN was one that jumped out at me. Other than you, I've never met a MN fan outside the state. Even if they have that many fans, how many are watching cfb (or the gophers)? The Minneapolis/St. Paul area is a good sized market on its own merit, though, and the fans there are largely hockey/football fans. The Vikings are probably the primary draw, but U of Minnesota is the only decent game in town as colleges go. pretty much this. 3 mil metro area with 1 Div 1 school in the area. Tons of Wisconsin transfers as well do to a reciprocity program with Wisconsin. So there are more Wisconsin fans on MSP than gopher fans? I'd agree with that.
