  1. Always good to send down a young, promising reliever in favor of another 30 something. None of those players are 30 or over. I discovered this fact by looking it up. True story. Almost 30. Hinshaw will be 30 at the end of October,so why send down Beliveau who' been doing well, aside from a few more walks that we'd like? I have no problem with Rusin. I've been all for auditioning him for a while now. Know something about what you post before posting. Please.
  2. Gary Gray...name sounds familiar, but I can't put a face to it. Would you kindly ask him to please TURN HIS [expletive] HEAD AROUND
  3. Looks like Tee Shephard and Ronald Darby will get a chance to start week 1 with ND losing a starting CB...
  4. I get quibbling over whether he's a decent starter or one of the better second basemen in the league, but I just don't see any way you can argue that he's nothing better than a utility guy. I thought they already made an adjustment to the stat for the shifts? I remember Brett Lawrie rating off the charts defensively before they changed it. Did they just adjust it for when the 3B is playing on the other side of second base? That was my understanding. Not sure what dramatic shifts have been so beneficial to Barney.
  5. And a love of cubs and whiskey was born
  6. The helmets are unforgivable. The rest doesn't look as bad on an actual person.
  7. Similar accounts: whole foods market

  9. Do I understand correctly that you're saying we're not yet at the point where he's had enough PAs to draw any conclusions, in fact we're only about half way there, but you're drawing conclusions? Just trying to wrap my head around that one. It's not binary. 59 PAs isn't meaningless and 60 PAs suddenly changes everything. 51.4% in 35 PAs is enough to strongly suggest that he has a terminal (to his career) contact problem. The chance that it's variance and the true underlying K-rate is something acceptable like 30% is pretty low. If 60 is a "threshold" than half of 60 seems closer to meaningless than predictive. It wouldn't be surprising to me if young guys have pretty hefty improvements in k-rate in the early going. I have no idea if that's common. I just wouldn't be surprised if it is.
  10. Maybe you live further South than me. I'm in West Seattle.

  12. It was like 75 here and still under the sun after 8. As soon as the sun hits the mountains, the temp drops. But that's why god invented sweaters and light jackets.
  13. Seattle is loads better That's your answer to everything. But he's right this time.
  14. So are nights in the 50s. In August. Sleeping with the windows open is fantastic. It's too [expletive] hot to do that almost every Chicago summer night
  15. The number of people who can't distinguish love from the board's failure to understand irrational hatred baffles me. This accusation seems to get thrown around all the time with no basis. It's just lazy, frankly.
  16. Cause we all know academic cheating is right up there with child rape. That was one terrible attempt at finger pointing. Was the writer a PSU alumni? I didn't post it because I was personally trying to compare it to the PSU situation. In fact, I don't really care about the author's smarmy tone. I am curious to see if this gains any traction, though. Seems pretty egregious. Then why post the article comparing it to psu instead of the dozens of articles about it?
  17. I have those 3 and one to be determined loss.
  18. We're now talking about Vilanueva I'd guess
  19. Wasn't it reported that he was experimenting with a curveball for that entire month or so? Which was what I was getting at and what makes the lack of mention of that other pitch glaring.
  20. Interesting article though incomplete. Did he throw the splitter more or less during his down swing? Did the splitter, in particular, lose effectiveness during that stretch? Did he throw other pitches during that time or throw some pitches with more frequency? How effective were those other pitches (i.e., do they explain some of his ineffectiveness)? Oh and "battled struggles with tiredness" is a brutal phrase. Love a good splange up though.
  21. 12 you bunch of pansies
  22. Everyone that's got a ML contract is invited to ST. I'm sure that's what he meant.
