  1. That's not what happened at all and the only reason Busch is here is because he's blocked by proven ML guys at every position with the Dodgers and is clearly being assigned 1B by Hoyer as he stated at the convention last weekend. If you don't see it, you're intentionally ignoring the signs.
  2. The pitching, specifically the bullpen, failed miserably the last few weeks. The offense was largely just fine.
  3. Because they just traded for one and called up Jared Young instead of the other late last season. They've made it fairly obvious.
  4. People are simply insisting that it was no less consistent than many other good teams. The Astros scored 3 or less 63 times as well. Your point is moot based on how baseball works. Just by the nature of the game you're going to have a bunch of games where you don't score much and others where you knock the cover off the ball. If your real point was that they need more slug in the lineup as currently constructed, I don't think you'll get much argument but the data point you used was a terrible way to try to demonstrate that.
  5. Morel just last year.
  6. Anybody have access to the Cubs on the list? https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2024-top-100-prospects/
  7. I'm not discounting that he can be a very good player, just that best player in the organization is pretty hyperbolic.
  8. What? He absolutely does not have that potential. He doesn't play the field well enough at any position, he doesn't hit for enough power or walk enough (from hat we've seen in the minors so far) to even approach that level.
  9. It's a shame the refs decided to give KC this game on a horsefeathers roughing penalty while not calling a hold on the same play. Chiefs fans are perhaps the most obnoxious people in existence.
  10. It's $5.99/month. Regardless of cost, it's still horsefeathers. They also are running a $30 for a whole year special knocking it down to $2.50 a month and I bit on that because there's enough other things on there my gf and I will watch that it becomes worth it at that price point.
  11. I feel like those are exactly the moves to make if you do want to spend on other things to fill remaining gaps.
  12. Or even more importantly, I think they maybe aren't sure Chapman is worth it based on his awful last 4 months of the season last year.
  13. This was my first instinct when it became clear that it was lower level guys going back to the Dodgers. Are Morel and/or Mervis getting moved in a separate deal to get pitching or trim 40 man spots?
  14. So did Nebraska pants Purdue last night just because they shot 60% from 3 or was it something else? I didn't see the game but that was the box score item that really jumped out at me.
  15. Bienemy is the guy I immediately thought of and Poles should have a relationship with him from KC. I think if you look at how much the KC offense struggled this year after he left, you maybe have hope that he's a guy who can bring some creativity and solutions to the stagnant stuff we saw this year.
  16. Ah yes, the predictable half measure that will inevitably backfire. God I hate this team so much.
  17. I don't remember if it was here or somewhere else but someone speculated he's basically playing on one leg and has been for the second half of the season. I'm not sure if that makes enough of a difference, but I'm definitely of the same mind as you on him.
  18. His processing looked light years faster than Fields. I think most of the 4th quarter has to be discounted because of what I'm betting is a cracked rib he was trying to protect that affected almost every throw, but I agree he just looked a little discombobulated in general in terms of throwing motion. Too many floating 50/50 balls even before he got hurt too. McCarthy didn't really impress me at all either.
  19. I’m not saying he didn’t do it, but that’s pretty thin evidence to think you can get a conviction from.
  20. I'm curious if Jenkins looking as bad as he did yesterday had something to do with playing next to a new center. Just from memory, it looked like most of the plays where he was beaten badly were on stunts or a similar play where there needed to be communication between him and the C as to who was taking which guy and it appeared there was a consistent miss there. Whether that's on him, the C or coaching, I don't know but it seems worth mentioning.
  21. I hope so. The only solace I take from all the positive comments about Flus are that it feels a little like the dreaded vote of confidence.
  22. I was already mostly in the get rid of everyone camp, but if Warren and Poles can legitimately watch that shitshow and say to themselves "Yeah, these are the guys that are going to get us to a Super Bowl", then the Bears are way more screwed than any of us could imagine.
  23. The NFL is a completely different beast than it was 15 years ago and winning with defense and a running game just isn’t a thing anymore.
  24. Illinois was playing tentative and scared the first 25 minutes. They were just bad. Terrible shot selection, not going to the rim, and generally just bad decision making. I think most of those guys not having seen Edey before had a lot to do with it. Rogers absolutely can’t be on the floor when Edey is because it allows him to just sit in the lane and guard the rim. It took Underwood way too long to figure that out and get another shooter on the floor to make him guard someone. Purdue’s supporting cast played exceptionally well.
  25. I hate B1G officiating so much. It certainly didn’t cost Illinois the game but it costs the conference in the tournament every year because they let these guys murder each other in conference play and then it’s a completely different game in the postseason. This game was a good example of how physical it gets.
