  1. Did Lilly really get thru the 2nd in 3 pitches?
  2. Looks like a quality AB from Sori.
  3. Unfortunately it looks like us Charter people in the St. Louis area and Wisconsin are still screwed.
  4. If I recall, he's only been pitching for 3-4 years and probably has a little more potential left than the typical 26 yr old.
  5. So what teams got totally boned last night with Gonzaga and South Alabama losing? I'm thinking Ohio State and one of the Big East teams will lose out because of those 2 automatics going to teams that weren't in. I really kind of enjoy watching Boeheim squirm and whine when they don't get in.
  6. Rule 5 draftee who has to stay on the 25 man or be offered back to whoever we got him from.
  7. Didn't see one started yet, so here we go. Updates would be appreciated for those of us following along while we should be working.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2008/columns/story?columnist=crasnick_jerry&id=3282307&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab6pos1
  9. If you were looking at mine, I was using Cedeno as the backup CF. Maybe not ideal, but it would work for the time being and also keep Felix out there just about every day.
  10. My changes are in bold. I think Marquis is traded, Hart to AAA, Lahey has to stay up or he gets returned to ???, Cedeno is up because Cintron is on a minor league deal.
  11. I'm pretty sure you're right, but he wasn't nearly sarcastic enough to really get that across. Very poorly written, I have to agree. Did that sound like Yoda? Man I gotta get out of the office early today.
  12. I think he meant your job is to score runs (like you crossing the plate yourself) and drive them in, but it did sound odd the way he said it.
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=3279715&sportCat=mlb Pretty fair and honest if you ask me. Doesn't trash anybody and is probably about as close to the truth as it's gonna get.
  14. Yes, this is what happened and UCLA was given the game. You can't draw up what the defender did any better than how he did it. I couldn't care less who won the game, but Stanford got robbed.
  15. Sounds like normal wear and tear for a 48-year-old. Methinks this is probably a little closer.
  16. So you're saying that not only is Fukudome pretty fast, but he also has an aptitude for running the bases?
  17. Cubs putting up quite a fight today, I see. Who's this Gonzalez guy from the A's?
  18. True, but what happens if Renteria craps out in 2008, and the Cubs decide his option isn't worth picking up, what then? You would have traded a valuable young arm for a 1 yr rental. Not a good deal. You need protection in case the deal doesn't work out in your favor. Of course, I believe the O's should send a prospect to the Cubs in the Roberts deal, if they are pushing Jay Payton on us. That goes without saying. Even if the Cubs let him go without picking up the option, there's a good chance they end up with a draft pick or 2 depending on how Renteria is classified for FA.
  19. I think you'll see some 2 TE sets, but more than that, you'll see a lot of Olsen in the slot and working the middle because he can get off the line well and has solid speed. Plus, he's not much of a blocker from what I've seen/heard so having him on the end of the line isn't a real big benefit.
  20. If we went RB in the first rd, I'd prefer Jonathon Stweart or Felix Jones. But if went Big Ten RB, I much rather WAIT till the 2nd rd. I am NOT convince that Meddenhall is 1st rd material. This is a guy who went from 845 yrds and 5 TDs combine between his Frosh/Sopho yrs, to 1681 yrds and 17 tds. So, colour me unconvinced about Meddenhall. Give me Felix Jones. In his frosh yr he had 626 yrds with 3 TDs. Soph/Junior yrs, he combine for 2330 yrds and 17 TDs. All the while in a PLATOON situation with Darren McFadden. So, IMO, Jones in a better back then Meddenhall. So, why rush for a RB with only one great yr of college, when you can get a better RB, like Stewart or Jones. Mendenhall's great improvement had more to do with the fact that there was abslutely zero in terms of other skill people or lineman to block for him on that Illinois team his 1st 2 years. Those young guys that Zook recruited and were playing when they should have been red shirted or riding the bench because they weren't strong enough got bigger and stronger and better last year and that had more to do with Illinois and Mendenhallbeing successful than anything (also the maturation of Juice).
  21. snood, this is my view of KU that I posted on another board:
  22. Why is he trying to catch a ball with his non-gloved hand? In practice no less?
  23. e2s, question for you. I'm just curious to know what kind of envorinment you work in. I'm wondering what kind of background leads you to the opinions you've got on how leadership does/doesn't work. I'm not trying to be critical, just looking for a little insight and understanding.
  24. I think it's more like this: Ouch, that's just cold.
