That's not really a good comp. The A-10 is typically a much stronger league than any of these other conferences like the Colonial or the Horizon. When you typically get 3-4 teams in every year, the conference/team gets a lot more clout when they run through it like St. Joe's did that year.

Yeah, there's a huge difference between what Cassel was able to do for the Patriots and what Flynn did in one game. It would be incredibly risky to make that acquisition, and I would hate for my team to do it. But it only takes one, and NFL teams without settled QB situations do stupid stuff. Then again, Wannstedt isn't out there coaching anybody either. Yeah, but if you're talking about a team like Cleveland who has Holmgren running things, I think there's probably a better chance they'd take a gamble than a lot of other teams since he'd be running the same sytem.

Their tackles aren't bad, they just weren't healthy this year. I think WR is a much bigger need for them. Just adding some not awful depth on the line should be fine for them.

I really don't think Blackmon is even going to be an option. I think the Colts take Luck (or somebody does) with the 1st pick and the Rams take him with the 2nd. I have a feeling they'd have to be overwhelmed (read: stupid level overpay) with picks to trade out of that spot and not get Blackmon.

Why are Buck and Aikman all bundled up? Why isn't there heat in the press boxes? That seems strange as recently as the stadium was renovated. Damn I hope they got that. Sweet.

How have those last 2 hits on Manning not been flagged? They both led with the helmet and the 2nd guy hit him in the chin.

You are just wrong about this. Bill James proved pretty conclusively in the 1980s that properly adjusted minor league statistics are just as predictive as major-league statistics. Yes, sometimes prospects flame out. Most of the time, this isn't because their MiLB statistics weren't predictive enough, it's because their MiLB statistics were projecting them to be not good enough but the team was counting on them to improve with age. You don't really believe what you just posted, do you? ML teams call up players who have lousy numbers in the minors because they think those lousy minor league numbers will improve with age. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Re-read what he wrote. Nowhere did he say anything about the majors. He just said that prospects flame out. -

I doubt Garza would sign this, but I'd like to see a five year extension with two vesting option years potentially taking him through his age 34 season. 2012 - $9 2013 - $12 2014 - $14 2015 - $14 2016 - $14 2017 - $14 vesting option based on IP combined in 2015 and 2016 2018 - $14 vesting option based on IP combined in 2016 and 2017 Full no-trade clause through 2014. Limited no-trade protection for 2015 and 2016. No no-trade protection for 2017 and 2018. That's $63/5 guaranteed. Potentially $91/7. That's a great deal for the Cubs, but if I was his agent, there's no way I'd agree to that. He'd have to be getting something like $15-18MM in each of those FA years to make it worthwhile because you're paying about market value for his last 2 years under team control. And I have no doubt that he'd probably get a deal similar to what Z got when he re-signed (5/$90MM was it?) or better if he actually hits the open market. -
Yeah, for as much as he just seems like a meathead, he kind of gets the big picture. Hopefully his X and O knowledge is as impressive as that quote.

LOLOL your argument is that a defense playing with five pro bowlers (two defensive players of the year) couldn't contain Tebow because they were without their nose tackle and Brett Keisel for some of the game Seriously, pro bowlers? Lame. At least try to make a solid argument. Now, I'm not say all the guys missing are ridiculously important cogs in the Pittsburgh defense, but when you have to try to replace 2 of 3 starting defensive linemen in game, you're probably screwed. Especially when you're facing a guy like Tebow who runs all over the place and discipline is paramount in containing him. There were a lot of plays in the second half where a starting d line guy probably would have been in position to make a stop and instead, Tebow ran for 10 or 12 yards. Plus, a few of the big pass plays he did make, I have a feeling the starting Pro Bowl safety who wasn't able to play might have had a hand in preventing.

Apparently wide receivers are allowed to arm lock DBs if they're blocking on a run play now? And that was definitely not PI. The WR basically stopped to cause the contact and because the DB was correctly looking back for the ball, he ran into him.

Did we ever find out definitively if Pena's deferred money went on the 2011 or 2012 payroll? Last I heard, I thought that is was to be paid in 2011 and it was just deferred to be a one time after the season payment. -

Adding to what's already been said, it sounds like the Miami organization is a mess internally (from what some national guy have said anyway) and that's probably one of the big reasons Fisher wouldn't want to go there.

So you wouldn't take Urlacher again at what, #7? He's a guy who has a tone of effect on the passing game with his ability to cover the new breed of TE. Urlacher was the 9th pick. In 2000, yes I would have taken him. In 2012, I wouldn't take a LB top 10. That's just dumb. Young Urlacher is about the only LB who isn't at a huge disadvantage against these TE heavy offenses. And they're only becoming more prevalent.

It is possible they are close to making another trade and need to wait for that to happen in order to clear the 40 man spot. Otherwise there are no obvious guys that can be dropped unless they try to put someone like Casey Coleman through waivers. Not sure how much interest there were would be in him and whether Theo and Jed would even care if he was claimed. Could they remove Jeff Bianchi? He was claimed on waivers from KC so does he have to stay on the 40 man roster? They got him through the rule 5 draft so he has to stay not only on the 40, but also the 25 or they have to send him back. Lendy Castillo was the guy they got in the rule 5 That's right, not sure why I thought that was Bianchi.
