    No, you have it right. Bruce confirmed that Dusty did not listen to Rothschild, and Larry was one of the only coaches who worked hard (I believe he said 1 of 2, but he didn't mention who the other one was). Everybody just has a different opinion on how much of a factor that was. I'm willing to see how he is this next year, but I can understand if some people are unwilling to give him another chance. Benny Cadahia?

    I don't get this "committment to winning" crap. Hendry showed that by not re-hiring Baker. What Hendry is hoping for is some first year magic turnaround to save his job, by pulling an Ozzie/Leyland and bringing an old-school, angry manager to the job.

    Isn't that the same newspaper that reported Torre being fired and George hiring Piniella? By the way, this news, if true, sucks major butt. If there was one manager I didn't want it was Sweet Lout.

    Sigh. There's no way we realistically get Bochy. It's like voting for the Green candidate for Governer of Illinois. You know he's better than the other two candidates, but he never gets any good press and isn't "sexy".

    My guess is that he didn't want to be part of the rebuilding effort that will soon be going on there. But it also means if he turns this down, he probably won't accept anything less.
