    That'll be Hendry's job tomorrow? I just can't see how they can hire a manager for longer than the GM, and it sounds like Hendry is really really on the block for next year.

    That appears to be exactly the plan. This is the Tribco saying cutting off the figurative head of the cubs, and saying "Do or die" to Hendry. McDone-uh isn't going to be here very long and he knows that, win or lose. Basically, it means we might very easily see an extension for Baker, no manager wants to come into an environment for one year only, with huge expectations.

    I agree with this post completely....there are worse GMs than Hendry, he has made some smart moves in his time, we've never had a player ditch us during this time because of management or salary issues.

    This could either be really good or really bad. If McDunough (spelling?) is interim for another year, it could be that Hendry is being given one more year. If there's another President soon, Hendry is probably gone. If the Tribune sells the Cubs, Hendry is gone for sure. WOWOWOWOW.

    Murton has steadily gotten better since his bad month, and is a low cost alternative to many players. I like him in our OF.

    Bingo. I have the same exact feelings. See I never understood that at all. I mean, I go to U of I, but I just can't seem to take college sports seriously. I mean, all these people that have never even seen the University of Illinois rooting for my football or basketball team? What gives? I think pro is better than college in every sport.
