  1. Your continued attempts to somehow compare Hill and Theriot are completely nonsensical. Again, stop ignoring Theriot's career numbers. They'll tell you a LOT more about him than this tiny burst of power hitting over the last 2-3 weeks. blah blah blah. if u didnt know talent when you saw it with hill why should theriot be any different? I did see talent in Hill...in his stellar minor league numbers. That's why I was so frustrated with him when he was tanking it up in the bigs. If anything, Hill's career is backing up my point...these guys' minor league numbers often help give you a damn good idea of what they're capable of. Theriot's don't even come close to sustaining what he's been doing for really only about a month. Exactly. If anything, MojoWoodPinKeyBoard (our new singular identity) is correcting the mistakes made by paying MORE attention to minor league numbers and LESS to what we see on the field.
  2. So did Cedeno last year. I just can't take him seriously, the comparison is too apt. there is a slight difference between cedeno's .731 in 80 ab's last year and ryans .961 in 99 ab's. this guy is the real deal imo and it just took getting playing time in the majors for him to shine. there is no doubt that he is way overachieving now but there are not many (if any) holes in his game imo. he seems to be very solid all the way around. He has NO history of power in the minors. Not even ANY. I'm all for having him on the bench next year as a Neifi! type player, but his power stroke is really a fluke when compared to his minor league numbers. That would be the one major error in his game. I know it looks like he put it all together, but again I'll point to Cedeno last year. Looks can be deceiving.

  4. Ugh. Just checked the 1st place guy in my fantasty league, 1.5 points ahead of me. Of course, he has Rammy. :x
  5. Wow Rammy doesn't want Philly to go anywhere.
  6. 1. Any stat is worthless on a Monday.  2. Yes I remember Lieber with the Cubs. :D 3. In two weeks, I'll really start to miss Fred's stats. Thanks for an outstanding job. You do know that there really isn't a Fred, right? It's just the name Tim gave his computer. Are you suggesting Tim's computer drives a truck? Maybe Tim's computer IS a truck...
  7. This may or may not help. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20060917/capt.496b8e2cce29475885ebd9a6dc864187.lions_bears_football_cxb110.jpg
  8. Will this be the game ESPN starts paying attention to the Bears on?

  10. I just want to say that of those five, I have three on my fantasy team. :D Also, Carpenter clearly deserves the award. He's flat-out dominated the NL this year, with only a couple bad starts at all. His WHIP is fantastic, and he's leading the Cardinals to victory. If Carlos walked less people, there'd be more of a chance for him, but I'm gonna go with Carpenter.
  11. By the way any explanation of "celebrating in an unfair way"? That one had me really confused.
  12. I agree 100%. It's a waste of his slugging power to have him bat leadoff. Especially if his BB/PA reverts, we want that power lower in the lineup.
  13. Vote in my poll! viewtopic.php?t=35462
  14. Make your decision.
  15. Carlos wins! Carlos wins! Carlos wins!
  16. LOL Milton's line is awful. 0.1 IP, 6H, 6R, 2 HR
  17. Methinks the Vikings might be a sleeper team this year.
  18. THANK GOD, I don't think I've ever been so happy to see Buck Coats.
  19. So uh....Can we get Zambrano out before he self-destructs?
