  2. the chicago white sox don't exist because carl everett doesn't play for them anymore.
  3. fear isn't stopping scouts from basketball and football teams from going into the inner cities and watching kids play. good article, but i'm not feeling that quote too much. i'm surprised by the cost of playing baseball...i was in a little league team in '94 and it didn't cost THAT much. maybe $250-$300 at the most. all we had to do was show up for practice with a bat, glove, cleats and some flexible clothing. the jerseys and gameday clothing were part of the fee you paid at the begining of the season. how much is it to play baseball on a high school or college team? i'm guessing it'll be in the $1000-$2000 range?
  4. steve garvey is still alive and there's not many positive things to say about him now! haha!
  5. while reading the verse, i had the instrumental of "ain't no half steppin'" by big daddy kane in my head. then i imagined kane rappin' the verses that professahesse wrote and it sounded glorious.
  6. i agree. part of me is saying "it's march 6th. don't worry about this..." but why are they being so careful with him if he's only had a "really bad virus" during the off-season? something doesn't add up.
  7. rinse, wash, repeat. :(
  8. ron coomer played for the cubs in '99? mueller in '00? looks like spawn.com needs a fact-checker...
  9. on the subject of celebrity cub fans, william peterson won't even step foot into u.s. cellular field. he was on the dan patrick show about a year ago and dan was needling him about going to the cell to watch the sox. mr. CSI said that he has "no desire" to watch the sox or go to their ballpark. i dig him.
  10. i call the cubs "cubbies" once in a while...does that make me a poser or something? i don't get the logic behind that one. if you're a fan, you're a fan...call 'em cubs, cubbies, the north siders, whatever. so does anyone have a pic of john cusack down with the white sox? man, that would make me look at him in a different light if that were the case. i know he is a HUGE cubs fan. check out his IMDB.com bio page...it's in the middle: http://imdb.com/name/nm0000131/bio as for the 7th inning stretch, it doesn't matter to me who sings it. i'll always remember harry doing it and thoughts of ozzy and ditka and d-list celebrities won't diminish those memories.
  11. mystery science theather 3000. a show that was on comedy central. classic.
  12. 2 box seats vs padres 5/13. whoo hooo!
  13. how long does it take for tickets.com to send you an email confirmation on your tickets?
  14. seth is the man! terrence reserved for the 7/30 cardinals game! thanks dude!
  15. no more cubs/white sox 7/1 tickets available today.
  16. i didn't get in last year until 12:15-12:30 on friday, so i guess this is normal.
  17. i like how we're saying we're irritated and it's only 53 minutes into the process.
  18. still being shut out. :'(
  19. for those with VWR windows open...the name of the window in your taskbar changes to something else when it lets you in, correct?
  20. 4 windows open waiting patiently have to pee
  21. ctrl + n doesn't work, but if you go to file--->new--->window, that works.
  22. i'm going after the 3:05 cubs/cards saturday game in late july. it's easy for me to fly over to chicago from NYC. and i'm tired of purchasing tickets for late spring/early summer and the game ends up being hella cold. i did that for a cubs/astros game in 2003..."oh, late may! should be warm!" yeah, right. 16 innings, 35 degrees, 40 mph winds blowing IN, got a cold, but a cubs W made everything worth it. but being cold for close to 5 hours sucked. :(
  23. that's what i kept hearing, so i gave it a shot and it worked. i did the multiple window thing and got in twice last year on that friday. it might work now, but maybe they'll disable ctrl + n once the tickets actually go on sale.
  24. for those rocking the VWR like i am, the "ctrl + n" trick still works. *waiting patiently*
