  1. it's a yearly event for rose to open up his mouth and say something stupid so people go "OMG PETE ROSE SPEAKS!" he said earlier that he bet on baseball, but never on the reds "to lose," so for the most part, this is old news. he'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit just to keep playing baseball, but i'd do the same thing so i wouldn't have to hear him open his yapper anymore.
  2. I believe you are actually talking about Alex Cora, who hit a home run on pitch number 18 against the Cubs. Wow, I really screwed that one up, eh? :D What year was that? It sounds strikingly familiar and is probably the at bat I was referring to. Thought for sure it was Izturis. i believe that was in '04. clement was gone after that season.
  3. Yeah, and Neifi hit .371/.400/.548 in 62 ABs for us in 2004. Isn't he considered the worst hitter in the majors now? i'll take a .633 SLG% off the bench over the .548 SLG% as a semi-regular any day of the week.
  4. they are going to drive in runs with their relief pitchers, much like izturiz drives in runs with his glove.
  5. if he can do it, you can do it.
  6. these pictures make me happy, except the one where soriano whiffed. granted, he'll probably do that around 150-160 times this year, but i didn't want to see a picture of him doing that so early in the spring. :D good to hear pat and ron on the radio, as well. regular season is just around the corner!
  7. i believe they start mailing them out during the middle of march. if you don't receive your tickets 4 or 5 days before the game you should be going to, call up the cubs ticket office and explain your situation. they will either send them out fedex overnight or they will make the tickets will-call for you. don't know if they charge you extra for the fedex overnight...been a few years since i had to deal with that.
  8. i had 25 windows open and i got in 4 times in an hour! that's unreal for me. got tickets to 3 games, though...4th window kept acting the fool.
  9. 2 infield box seats vs. padres 5/18! OH YEAH!
  10. im stuck in "high transaction volume" hell right now.
  11. got in again! 4 bleacher tickets on labor day vs. dodgers! OH YEAH!
  12. keep clicking on "look for tickets." i got that error message and i did not give up. you'll get in sooner than you think.
  13. got in: turns into "chicago cubs ticketing" 4 field box infield tickets vs. brewers for july 1st! OH YEAH!
  14. go up to "file," then "new," then "window" and you should be all set. that's what i did and i have about 15 windows open.
  15. most of the people i work with are non-cubs fans (read: yankee fans), so they don't have any idea.
  16. i took the day off from work. aiming for the brewers series right before 4th of july...only time where i can get off of both work and night school/audio college. i'm psyched! :D
  17. izzy will take a line drive off his arthritic shoulder or elbow and land on the DL quicker than you can imagine. i really don't see him being healthy the entire season.
  18. so what time will we find out whether z or the cubs won this chess match?
  19. but that's what makes a baseball cap a baseball cap! until last summer, i hadn't washed my cubs hat for close to 6 years! my girlfriend finally got tired of my hat(s) smelling like a jockey strap, so i threw it in the washing machine and 3 washes later, the smell was gone! sweat marks are still there, so i look at them as like rings on a tree stump...tells me how long i've had the cap. the sweat would help me break in a baseball cap...an hour's worth of mowing the lawn would give the hat enough sweat to form to my head and always have that "snug" fit that would last a lifetime!
  20. prior's starts during the last two months of the '03 season, including the playoffs, have to be some of the most dominant pitching performances i've ever seen. he just made pitching look so easy...overpowering batters like that. i miss that mark prior. i wish he would come back.
  21. and accuscore was the only one who got it right? yes, the computer simulator was the one who got the prediction correct.
  22. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/100/365171844_106e6cba69_o.jpg espn analysts fail at life. computer wins lol
