  1. I haven't watched any of their games, but just looking at this I would think that the kicker is not getting good hangtime in an attempt to get a touchback.
  2. I would have no problem trading Colvin and other parts for Greinke, which the Royals might do. My guess is the Cubs would not make that trade for several reasons, so its probably moot.
  3. Its probably real obvious, but who was the last Big Ten coach to get fired mid season? My guess is there is more going on then just a losing record.
  4. I think Michigan St. is a very interesting situation. They don't play Ohio St. And the only challenge they have left is at Iowa. With no conference championship game, if they go undefeated they will have won the Big Ten without playing arguably its best team. The Michigan win gets weaker every week, leaving Wisconsin and potentially Iowa as its only signature wins. I don't think you can say that those 2 wins are better than Boise's potential body of work, which includes VT, Oregon St, and Nevada. Or TCU who could have wins over Oregon St, Utah, and Air Force. Really? VT, Oregon State and Nevada are unimpressive. I'd take the ND, UM, IA, WI, NU body of work over either of those in a heartbeat. I also dont think it is just who were the 3 best teams that each teams play. I think the quality of the middle of the road teams that each one plays is important. To be honest Illinois is quite a bit better then the middle of the conference teams from the WAC or the Mountain West.
  5. Florida actually won that game. Demps run fass Someone's getting a crazy death threat-sending stalker back next week. you have to admit, college fb chat was a lot funnier with him
  6. I can hear the BS now...This just shows how tough the SEC is South Carolina actually won. Meph?

  8. I dont think they will either, but this is easily their worst offensive performance of the year. Their defense has been getting a little better every week. This is coming off a big rivalry game with back to back tough road games coming up. Really, they have the easiest schedule of the Big Ten contenders left. To sum up, I think they have a pretty decent chance of being in a BCS game.
  9. Go Sparty!!!
  10. well the Wings got thoroughly outplayed by Colorado the other night and got lucky to get a point and were trounced by the Stars last night so us Wings fans don't really shouldnt have much to say right now
  11. Hjalmarssons hit was not even close to being as dirty as Steve Moore's unpunished hit on Markus Naslund. Hjalmarsson does not have the reputation of being as dirty of a player as Moore was.
  12. dang it....being 6-0 makes people care if you have players doing criminal type stuff.
  13. I agree with this. I also think the only way that this causes any positive change is bigger name agents will have to be caught or confess. I also think that players from schools that are perceived as clean will have to be named for any real change to happen. Still way to easy for fans from schools that "are above this kind of thing" to point at the WSU, USC, and other schools and say that it is an issue with those renegade programs and not with us. This isn't about schools paying guys to play but agents paying soon-to-be pros in order to get their business when they declare, right? I don't think it's really sports specific. so USC shouldn't have been punished for what happened with Reggie Bush? That's not what I said. The story is agents are paying players to get their business when drafted. I don't think it matters what schools are involved from a "how do we change it" standpoint. it probably shouldnt matter. But like steroids in baseball it took people to realize it was way more then one or two isolated cheaters to realize that there is a problem, even a problem with players who play on my favorite team...oh my!!! I think in this case it will take players from Perceived Squeecky Clean State to get in trouble with this to really cause a large outcry to positive change. I still think it is way to easy for many fans to say things like U$C or its Miami(thug U)

  16. is it possible that Hendry has been able to sell the idea to Ricketts that he was opposed to some of the moves the Cubs have made that were more for PR or short term success but hurt the teams flexibility in the long run? for example the signing of Soriano and the resigning of Zambrano. This is not me trying to defend Hendry(who I think needs to be fired) as much as it may be an excuse of why Ricketts has not fired him.
  17. Yeah, he's bad. But we need at least one enforcer. So who suits up on the blue line tonight? Keith, Seabrook, Leddy, Boynton, Scott, and ???? I guess Hendry? I've lost track of him. Has he been a scratch so far this year or is he hurt? Why do you need an enforcer? Especially one who actually sucks at hockey. You don't. They haven't had one for years yet went from also ran to contender to champion regardless. People just get hung up on that nonsense. truth be told the only enforcing enforcers ever really do is getting into fights with other teams enforcers. That is why it makes no sense to have such a player who really has no other value on your team.
  18. he is currently on Mike and Mike...I don't get that impression from him in this interview.

  20. intent has no merit in the NHL justice system. I agree with you, but the NHL is really hard to read on these types of things. My guess is Hjalmarsson is not quite a big enough name to get off free.
  21. Very possible. He's done it before. Hawks first win in Buffalo since 2001. Not with Kopecky as a linemate he hasnt
  22. I think the banner raising ceremony was a good watch, if I was a Hawks fan it would probably have been very cool. The game itself was not good to watch, even for a Wings fan...no flow, little up and down action, a lot of bad passing by both teams. I was impressed with a couple of the "new guys" on the Hawks. Skille made some nice plays. I think if Skille was on the top line with Hossa and Toews instead of Kopecky, the Hawks win that game. I know I don't watch every Hawks game, but I have seen little of him as a Hawk that changes my opinion of him from when he was a Wing. He will look like a great player at times to peak your interest, but when given any serious ice time will make a lot of turnovers.

  24. the problem with this is, that it is appeasing the "uneducated fans" that causes the Cubs to do things like sign Soriano to his albatross of a deal. Which has been a concern of mine for awhile...sometimes to be great you have to give up on good. The Cubs make boat loads of money when they are good, so they are less reluctant to make the moves that could make them great.
  25. if Fukudome is traded and Berkman can still man a corner OF in a 4th OF type of role, I wouldnt mind bringing him in. Kind of like a switch hitting Nady type of role.
