  1. I am waiting for the headline " Joe Morgen FIRED, Ryan Sandberg takes his place" That would be quite interesting, especially since RYAN Sandberg doesn't exist. Tell that to this guy! :D Everyone at NSSB should send this guy a friend request. Then every time that HCCF makes a funny spelling mistake we could post it on this guys wall.
  2. That was really good. Surprised I had never even heard of him. His high school films were beyond ridiculous. I heard Gerry DiNardo saying the other day that if recruiting was just between coaches and the athletes, the vast majority of corruption would be eliminated. This was another prime example. I thought it was kind of hilarious Switzer ripped him after the Fiesta Bowl loss where he had 17 carries for 239 yards because Dupree was overweight. And I agree, that was a good one. Didnt he do almost all of that in the first half and was pretty much out the 2nd half? I didnt watch the documentary, but from personal memory I do remember Marcus Dupree was probably the first player that I can remember whose recruitment was a national story. Before him you just didnt hear that much about recruiting. I have seen a couple of the 30 for 30s and have to admit that they are well done. Though I dont watch Nascar I thought the one on Tim Richmond was fascinating. It was so sad how people who had AIDS were treated back in the 80s

  4. And then be flabbergasted that anybody would have a problem with it. skyballing is complicated
  5. The captains will be determined by the ASG players voting. Should be interesting. I see, I was somehow under the impression that the top 6 were going to be split up by conference, I guess I just read that into the article. One thing that I have to agree with the NHL about is that they try to make the All Star game work. It will never be that great of a game, but at least change how to market it is kind of cool.
  6. So its going to be Team Crosby vs Team?
  7. I would be cool with that.
  8. So just for clarification...is skyballing just the act of copying someone's work and claiming it for your own, or do you have to brag about it on the internet also?
  9. This is being denied now, just turned on the radio and they were laughing about how something he said was taken out of context and caused a lot of talk on twitter. I thought the NCAA cannot suspend an individual player.
  10. Sad thing is that Gardner probably has a legitimate claim to being a GGer.
  11. I have no idea but if either Texas or Michigan are in it I will be going. Why is somebody complaining about more football on New Years? I love watching football all freaking day long and would happily watch more. I think its been along time since New Years day was some sort of sacred college FB day. Why not have another game.
  12. I think you are pretty spot on here. Hawks will be fine
  13. did you expect someone else? Gotta love the comment next to Jeter's name in the list of this year's Gold Glove winners at the top of Baseball-Reference.com. I had no problem believing it. I just refuse to agree with it. I think every year we are reminded by several cases that GG has long been voted on by mindless sheep. I think reputable sites like BaseballReference would do themselves a favor and not even mention GG or put it in players awards section. Since GG was created by The Sporting News, I think it would be cool if BR got together with some other places and come up with a competitive defensive award that is actually based on defensive merit and not whatever the clowns who vote on GG do currently.

  15. I think we need to heavily promote this term until becomes a known word throughout the Internet. The only time I seem to talk about skyballing is here though. I dont know any skyballers away from NSSB Maybe start by creating a Wiki page for the term. urban dictionary, too if it was put on the internet wouldnt there be a fear that it would be skyballed?

  17. that was a great laugh first thing this morning...thanks FC for Skyballing:)
  18. Don't forget who created and runs the BCS...its not the fans or minor conferences. BSU/TCU would lock out the power behind the BCS. If it was up to the fans and minor conferences, the BCS would already be dead.
  19. Even so Auburn has to lose twice for LSU to make the SEC title game. Without that I don't think they have enough to leap in front of TCU. Although that could be the final piece to destroy the BCS. I think the final piece to destroy the BCS would more likely be a Boise St/TCU Championship game and not a team from one of the power conferences jumping them to be in the Championship game
  20. I dont fault ESPN for dumping the NHL. I don't either. It's just funny they want back in now. I am glad they do. I hope Versus keeps them, but competition will probably force Versus to make improvements on their overall coverage.

  22. http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/content_display/news/national-broadcast/e3i4ef51a35fea2a26d15ce1a430950933c? I gotta say...I don't like ESPN, but I'm hoping they win the rights, just because of the programming tier that Dish has put Versus on... I think the downside of this would be at playoff time. Versus covers two games a night most nights in the playoffs. I am not sure that ESPN would give that level of coverage with all their other commitments.
  23. This kind of thing happens every year with the SEC I'll go ahead and say it for everyone. the SEC has always been overrated. I just don't think the voters put any thought into it. I would say that there are times that jumping LSU like they did this week does make sense. I dont think this is one of the cases, but hey its the SEC, which is only slightly below the NFC in quality of play.

  25. Hate to burst Herms bubble, but there were many teams who were playing "not to lose" at end of tied games. This is one of the reasons OT was added.
