  1. Very easily obviously, but how? Defensive players are allowed to grab offensive players with the exception being receivers on a pass play are they not?
  2. How can there be defensive holding on a running play?
  3. Glad to see that they had a baby involved in this thing.
  4. http://football.hawkmania.com/tag/abe-satterfield/ wrong
  5. I love it too. Feel weird rooting for Iowa but I'm enjoying this. Hawkeye is just being self righteous....must still be tender from helping the rape cover up. I kind of thought we would lose coming into this game, but not like this...oh well
  6. Cousins throws 2 stupid passes off his back foot=2 touchdowns for Iowa Stanzi throws 1 stupid pass off his back foot=1 touchdown for Iowa
  7. Like I said I am not for him being reinstated so soon, but I am not the coach. What I do get a little fired up about is self righteous fans from other programs who like to pretend they know all the facts casting judgment. Its not like Dantonio was covering up a rape or something. As to your second paragraph, the reason Dantonio isn't getting shelled like RR is because MSU is not a prestigious national program. Heck Dantonio may be doing this so he can go undefeated and get a job at an elite program next year, who knows. What I do understand is that you probably wouldn't give a rip if MSU wasn't playing Iowa this week or if Rucker got just one more game suspension.
  8. Basically the only thing you need to know is that he was in a brawl last year where he was was charged with assault and battery. Dantonio said that he was on a zero tolerance policy and had to stay away from alcohol. Months later he gets a DUI which violated his probation. Probation officer recommended 21 days in jail but he got a plea deal with an 8 day jail sentence. Apparently zero tolerance means lots of tolerance to Dantonio because the morning he got out, he was back on the field. Then Dantonio told Rucker that it's up to him whether he wants to play tomorrow or not. The kicker of it all is that he's again trying to use this move to speak to signify fighting through adversity. He keeps talking about how much harder this will be on Rucker and how this isn't the easy way out. And like NUN, he likes to say that the mistake shouldn't result in a lifetime banishment, ignoring that there's room in the middle. All of this while again trying to make himself the good guy for "being there" for his players. The only years MSU's program has done anything in the modern era are when they have steroid scandals or a coach who runs the dirtiest program in the league. Maybe if Iowa stopped hogging all the "smart, gritty" guys who "play the right way" other schools wouldn't have to resort to such underhanded tactics. you mean have sex the right way? and so the issue is not that he deserves a lifetime ban but he does deserve more punishment. Instead of missing 2 games I am sure 3 would have been enough? At least that would cover the Iowa game right
  9. Okay...let me be the first to say that I am not for Rucker being reinstated, but comparing it to Winston is not a good comparison. Rucker has made a couple of bad decisions without a doubt, but I would have a hard time saying that he is not worth trying to do steps to get his life in order. I think Dantonio is making a mistake here, but I would rather he made a mistake for a kid like Rucker then someone who rapes and kidnaps. So you're not for it but it shouldn't be compared to the other awfu dwecision that he made? Sorry there aren't many other instances in the country of players serving such long jail terms and immediately being reinstated. Rucker tweeting that he landed in Iowa City and can't wait for tomorrow. Shocking that he'll be playing when Dantonio left the decision up to him. What a scummy program. You do know what his involvement is in these 2 incidents? I am not saying he is an angel, but based on these two incidents I also would have a hard time saying he is a non repentant thug who has lost all his chances. Also, he was suspended from the game before he went to jail plus he missed a game while in jail. He was also suspended from last years bowl game. So its not like he faced no consequences for his crimes. There is no doubt that Dantonio made a mistake with Winston and Jenrette. But to Dantonio's defense of the 15 players involved in the dorm brawl only 7 of them returned to the team.

  11. That is my ex wifes bday \:D/
  12. hey, MSU is trying to jump the Big Ten for the SEC!!! Good FB team low discipline
  13. Robin Ventura. Until I read this I would have said that Steve Stone was the best player born on my birthday, he is only 5th
  14. Ah, we're still on the 'you should be forced to accept a bowl bid without a head coach or offensive coordinator and with your two best players already polishing up their NFL resumes whether it makes any sense whatsoever to do so' kick. If anyone's read the book "Death to the BCS" it should be blatantly obvious why accepting a minor bowl bid at 6-6 is stupid for anyone, especially so without a coach. Those extra practices are invaluable to younger players. Maybe that's why you suck this season. extra practices with no HC, no OC, and 2 DCs whose systems could not be more different (oh, and I believe the WR coach/recruiting coordinator took a HC job at another school in December as well). those are somehow helpful? if only there was an unlimited amount of practice time in cfb. If only Michigan would make bowl games then they wouldn't need the "extra practice time"
  15. Maybe Jim Leyland will bring him in to help the Tigers:)
  16. Ladd leads them in scoring....Eager in PIM
  17. Sulley I think he was on the fence, he read your earlier post about why Stanford would be better and he decided to go there:)
  18. Do you think that MLB owners are willing to do what it takes to get a hard salary cap? For example the NHL had to take a whole season off. I think the owners would have to be in agreement that this is what they are willing to do to get the cap. I honestly don't see them all staying the course on this. That's part of why I offered all of those suggestions in concert. The Union would be a lot more open to things like dropping the DH or a salary cap if they got paid the same amount(because salaries sure aren't going down) for a season that's 20% shorter. The union has been very strong in their anti-cap stance...not sure your example will open them up to one. I think they only way the union will budge on a cap is if you added a floor that was pretty high, something close to what the current average payroll is now. Then they would have to have some guarantees that the floor/cap will rise with any revenue increases. My guess is the players would still take a pretty hard stance against a cap even under those conditions.

  20. What the hell was he doing in Dallas on a Monday night/ Tuesday morning? study group?
  21. I am against a Salary Cap...the Cubs are run way to poorly and if not for enough money to outspend some other teams could easily be a bottom feeder for years
  22. I am against expanded playoffs. One of two things would have to happen, both of which I think are not really that cool. 1st, they would have to expand to 16 teams so no teams have a bye while other teams are playing 3 or 5 game series....16 teams making the playoffs is not that thrilling to me. 2nd, expand to 12 teams and the best 4 get a first round bye...don't really like that idea either. One thing I think they should make a rule starting next season...get the next series going 2 days after the completion of the last series.
  23. Not disappointing at all: That is some great stuff. The funny thing is I think he had a point about players being so scared to mess up that they freeze sometimes at key situations. He however went into that German analogy that was just great.
  24. pretending to speak into a radio....Pretends to look through Binoculars. I think I am going to be disappointed about seeing the video, because these two statements are just hilarious
  25. the game was on comcast for some reason. I watched most of the first period and Niemi was terrible. Calgary was outplaying SJ, but the goalie needs to make a couple of those stops to keep his team in the game when the ice is tilted.
