  1. After the Tulsa loss, ND was rather impressive the rest of the season. I have been faced with the sad reality of MSU football. I dont think I have ever been that upset about not being able to watch some other games on NYD because of my need to watch MSU.
  2. I don't understand that. I understand having concerns about him. But dude is a walking "wow" I think that is part of it, he would appear to have all the tools to be the best receiver in CFB. He has had moments but has never really wowed with his performance.
  3. Green is much bigger and faster. Blackmon is more Michael Crabtree than Dez Bryant. AJ Green is a Calvin Johnson clone. I don't know if I'd go as far as Calvin Johnson but AJ Green is definitely much better than Blackmon. And Blackmon I think has separated himself ahead of Julio Jones. I like Julio Jones. It would be hard to pass him up. He really had a great game vs. Patrick Peterson, but his lack of concentration and drops concern me. I dont know why I feel this way, but I get the feeling that Julio Jones will be disappointment to whatever team drafts him
  4. Oh where is Cynosure now? That is a pretty funny comment.
  5. I lost it with Stone after Harry died. I think they were a great team because Stone had to play second chair to Harry. I don't think Stone wants to play 2nd chair anymore. I didn't watch many Sox games last year, but I am surprised that Hawk and Stone can co-habitat. I think part of what makes Pat good was that he and Ron made a great team, I wonder if Pat will be as good with someone else?
  6. Wisconsin fans seem to be very good at supporting teams if they are worth supporting. Is it possible that if the Brewers would make a serious investment into winning that they could become bigger mid market like St Louis?
  7. I dont think Greinke was plan B for the Yankees
  8. not quite the same, but I think it is similar to how the Cubs treat Greg Maddux.
  9. except none of these hawkeyes will be playing in the bowl game Every MSU player involved in the brawl last year was suspended for the bowl game
  10. Going to the Michigan/MSU game in the Big House today I don't get into college hockey that much but it should be a good time
  11. He'd have another game in his career if he played for Mark Dantonio. Well done. MSU suspended 15 players for last years bowl game Rucker missed two games(including one where he was not in jail) for his DUI this year...hate to let facts get in the way of your fun
  12. I like their chances of being in the 1st Big Ten title game. Pelini seemed very sane
  13. is that Michigan to Gator?
  14. I had never heard the toupee on fire story until yesterday. I can probably give many examples of stories, but I just loved listening to him and Pat while driving in the car listening to the Cubs. Winning or losing I knew there was going to be some entertaining radio. To bad no one is going to be able to replace Ron and add that level of entertainment
  15. What I hate even more is that Hendry has a team that only only won 75 games and a payroll that allows no room for improvement, and yet he does not even appear to be on the hot seat. It would be one thing if he had a WS victory or even an appearance to hang his hat on, but with his record and the state of this team I find this truly amazing that his job appears to be completely safe. As for the Cubs involvement in the AGon trade talks, I wonder if they would have had to unload some money before they could commit to extending AGon. I also dont think cleaning out the farm to get AGon would have been a great move.
  16. Wings have 16 games in 29 days starting tonight...that should balance the games played out
  17. the Giants winning a WS with Brian Sabean as GM has to give Cubs fans hope.
  18. I think TCU is close enough to Oregon and Auburn in the BCS rankings that TCU would get the nod if AU were to lose to South Carolina. TCU is substantially ahead of all of the other 1 loss teams.... I disagree...unless Auburn gets really hammered, I think they will make the Championship game why do you think the BCS would rate a 1-loss AU team so high? 1-loss Stanford is not close to TCU in the current rankings. I believe a one loss Auburn team falls behind Stanford and maybe even Wisconsin and Ohio St. in the Coaches poll...the computer polls could bail out AU I suppose. I think that there will be a lot of propaganda to re-examine TCU's schedule, along with the normal amount of SEC schools having a different standard for rankings, I think it is quite possible that Auburn would only fall to 3 in the polls. Combine that with the computers, Auburn stays in the NT game. Just my guess.

  20. I like the Carlos Pena gamble better then most of the other options. I think his contract is going to be higher then most expect, which may leave the Cubs out.
  21. Miami has shown what they are really about with the firing of Shannon
  22. I think the ghost of John L Smith still hangs around MSU some.
  23. "What a conference" He has a way of really making me dislike every team in that conference. I really enjoyed the actual game today and was really annoyed by Danielson all game. He should just come out and say the SEC championship game is the National Championship game. As for the game I was hoping Auburn would win, just to save me from being really annoyed when Alabama passed all of the 1 beaten teams up in the polls except for LSU.
  24. UConn(who last I seen was getting killed by Michigan) still has a good chance to make a BCS bowl!?!? Big East is bad...who was the poster who was a constant Big East apologist a couple of years ago?
  25. thats the deal that MSU made with Boise...that must be below the OSU standard The Michigan State/Boise State deal is a pretty safe one for Michigan State. The landscape is going to look different in 10 years by the time the 2nd game rolls around and there's a decent chance Boise State won't be able to keep this going for another decade. So Michigan State gets a single upcoming home game against a likely top team while not having to worry about them again for another decade. But that's not something Ohio State needs. They can get a top opponent in a home and home anytime they want without the risk of looking bad by losing to a non-AQ team, particularly on the road. No real reason for them to do it. I agree it is a good deal for MSU. Of course they probably do not have as much to lose as OSU. Truth is it is probably more of a gamble for Boise at this point to play @ MSU without a return game for another 10 yrs. Though I think MSU will be pretty solid again next year and possibly be a preseason top 25 in 2012, I don't think they will be regarded as being as being a high level opponent. They will however probably be good enough to possibly beat Boise. I think that would do more damage to Boise then any upside of beating MSU would.
