  1. Yeah, I wasn’t paying attention. These days, that quote wouldn’t have surprised me from a pro athlete.
  2. The NBA would be infinitely more entertaining if quotes like this were real. You’re saying that’s fake? Bummer.
  3. This seems fine.
  4. Pelicans up 25 at Brooklyn. Sharing the ball, rebounding, bench even looking great. Ben Simmons is still Ben Simmons.
  5. There’s a large gap between those two and Tennessee? Yes, I think Alabama is down this year. Saban is losing his touch (?) (I don't know the right words). They've been sloppy and not well-disciplined all year. RE: Tennessee v. Georgia, we will find out on Nov. 5. Really think Tennessee is right there with Georgia. I haven’t seen enough of OSU to speak on them.
  6. Seriously, why is Rodgers considered one of the goats? He’s been really, really good but his teams have flopped in the playoffs all but one season. How is he better than say, Stafford, who’s never been in the same conversation? Last year with a ton of talent around him Stafford still led the league in picks thrown with 17. Aaron Rodgers played 64 games the last four seasons and threw 15 interceptions total. Stafford is a fine QB but to mention him in the same breath as Rodgers is laughable. Is Drew Brees basically the same as Matt Stafford too? His teams flopped in the playoffs in all but one season. With the caveat that I cannot be unbiased on this, Drew joined a broken franchise that was a historical laughing stock and immediately took them within one game of the SB. It’s pretty much him or Brady for leader in every statistical passing category in NFL history. Not even the same conversation.
  7. i mean he's still one of the greatest qbs of all time and that'll never be taken away from him but its about time he goes away forever its only fair that green bay now suffers 30 years of pain and irrelevance, like we have (will that happen? of course not, even if they have a tough season this year they'll magically acquire and develop the next greatest QB of all time) Seriously, why is Rodgers considered one of the goats? He’s been really, really good but his teams have flopped in the playoffs all but one season. How is he better than say, Stafford, who’s never been in the same conversation?
  8. I gotta say, this playoff format is pretty awesome. Also, this:
  9. You mean the PI on the pick? I thought it was a little soft but the right call. Bailed out a bad throw though. I’m not saying it was a bad call, just that those usually never go against BAMA.
  10. Tennessee getting the calls.
  11. So much better than Hurts or Tua. Love Hooker too.
  12. I don’t know if Tennessee holds on (or if the refs screw another BAMA opponent) but they are one of the best teams in the country.
  13. It’s time I’ve ever seen a video review when the refs lost track of what down it was.
  14. The Vol offense can’t be stopped.
  15. If they hold on to finish off the Braves, Wheeler and Nola are set to start the first two games of the NLCS. That should make even the Dodgers nervous. I think that’s maybe it. With those TOR starters and the way they dong, I feel like they have the better chance against LA. Plus, horsefeathers all things ATL. A terrible fan base.
  16. Philly donging their way to the WS would be fine with me.
  17. He also had a hilariously bad defensive possession last week against the Kings (I think) which under normal circumstances I’d brush off as it just being preseason except that type of thing is the norm for him now. 0% chance he last the year there. Yeah, but how do they get rid of him? Nobody is taking on that deal. Also, a reminder that the Pelicans get the Lakers pick in the next draft from the AD trade. I’m cheering for an implosion.
  18. This seems like it’s going to go poorly.
  19. The ‘94 NCAA BB title over Duke was my first time, and Cubs in 2016 was incredible, but the Saints SB win was easily my greatest sports fan moment. Specifically, that Tracy Porter INT in the SB was one of the happiest moments in my life, period.
  20. nothing will ever top 2016, once i came to terms with that it got easier in my life i've gotten the bulls dynasty the blackhawks quasi-dynasty (including the riveting game 6 comeback) the 2016 cubs comeback there's really nothing left for me to experience You weren’t alive for the 1985 Bears? Never mind, I now realize that was nearly 40 years ago. horsefeathers, I am getting old.
  21. It was so reassuring to know we're paying sideline reporters to do horsefeathering ads for HBO during the game instead of, you know, actually reporting on something. Sideline reporters offer useful information?
  22. That was so, so cringy bad.

    NFL Week 5

Yeah, but MCaffrey is Mr Glass. He’s awesome when healthy but I don’t think the cold and the turf in Buffalo would make him any more durable. I’d say a 2nd and maybe 5th rounder. The "running backs don't matter" in me says that's asking a touch too much. The "no such thing as players made of glass" in me says that Buffalo would have pissed themselves in excitement if that was the ask. Edit: Patterson is most certainly proof that RBs don't matter, and ironically, is currently hurt. It depends on the scheme. Maybe KC doesn’t need an elite RB, but I’d argue 75% of teams need a good to elite RB. Look at the Saints record with/without Kamara. Imagine the Titans without Henry or the Browns without Chubb. Decent RB play is the difference between a Seattle and a Minnesota.

Add to the sellers market, there are several teams desperate for RBs right now. I think 3 guys either on practice squads or out of football entirely were signed to new teams last week.
