  1. plus you can't forget about those 4-0 tigers of ol mizzou just waiting to make a big leap sorry, a very reputable SEC power ranking had them dead last. Ha! I have never claimed to be reputable, but I do see them in the bottom 4. Where would you have them? Next week at Vandy is a litmus test, but otherwise the only chances they have for wins are Tennessee or Kentucky. I don't know when this became me versus Missouri, but I just see them winning 2 conference games at most.
  2. Go Saints. 8-)
  3. I keep thinking this is a trap game for Clemson at Syracuse, who is coming off a bye week.
  4. B. Gabbert 17/32 pass 179 yds 5.6 avg 0 td 3 int 30.6 QBR M. Jones-Drew 13 rushes 23 yards 1.8 avg The Jags one score was a 53 yard FG. This is the worst team in years.

  6. Yeah, MS State is pretty bad. As for Arkansas, the only team below them on there that might be better is Vandy. Auburn is just not good at all and I haven't seen anything out of the Vols to show me that they're ready. Remember, Arkansas shoud be 4-0 if not for their walk-on backup QB having to start at Rutgers. He is train-wreck bad.
  7. 1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. LSU 4. A&M 5. USC-e 6. Ole Miss 7. Florida 8. Arkansas 9. Vanderbilt 10. Auburn 11. Tennessee 12. Kentucky 13. Miss St. 14. Missouri I'd be curious how you and what I can only assume a massively intoxicated friend arrived at those. Massively intoxicated? No doubt about it, but it looks about right today. I'd say there is a pretty big drop off after 5 and after 9.
  8. The Aggies are like Cam Newton's Auburn Tigers. There were a ton of plays in that game that were all Johnny Manziel. Arkansas had a good pass rush, but he was too fast. That Evans guy has NFL written all over him. A&M has a some serious talent at RB. I don't think A&M touched Allen all night. I'm pretty happy with the play of our offensive line, starting 2 true freshman. It is encouraging to see how many of our younger guys played big in the biggest game to date. There's actually a ton of encouragement we can take away from that game. I actually thought the Hog D was pretty solid, except for tackling Manziel. A friend of mine and I were power ranking the SEC. Here's what I came up with: 1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. LSU 4. A&M 5. USC-e 6. Ole Miss 7. Florida 8. Arkansas 9. Vanderbilt 10. Auburn 11. Tennessee 12. Kentucky 13. Miss St. 14. Missouri
  9. Did that not happen to a Cleveland Browns offensive lineman about 10 years ago and the player went after the ref? IIRC, the guy went blind in that eye and that pretty much ended his career.
  10. Nice opening drive by Arkansas. It's nice to have a competent QB under center.
  11. You probably know the story of how Mettenberger for LSU first enrolled at UGA where his mom has worked in administration for years. Verne and CBS have milked the story for every drop. Rachael Wolfe just had a bit where she explained that Mettenberger's mom was dressing incognito and even had to take off work for a couple of weeks because this was so awkward and difficult for her. CBS cameras of course find her in the crowd and keep the camera on her the whole time, all the while explaining how she had been moving around the stands quite a bit so as to not be spotted.
  12. How that guy could be a miserable prick with her at home I have no clue.
  13. Maybe this is a question for a weekday but what is the opinion of Bielema from you guys that saw him the last few years? There are a bunch of grumblings from the lunatic fringe of the Razorback fans (yes, I know). The team is much better prepared compared to last year and the early returns on recruiting and talent evaluation are fantastic. That said, he doesn't coach the most exciting brand of football and he did blow a lead in the 2nd half at Rutgers. His swagger and frequency on Twitter are ok for now until the honeymoon wears off and he has some losses. I like him, but I see the other side.
  14. Yikes. Arkansas is in deep [expletive]. Our OL is as good, if not better, than last year's. And that was very, very good. I've heard Allen is starting at QB so I imagine we'll load up the box to slow down the run and dare him to throw on us. I imagine that is the strategy of every team going forward against Arkansas. If Allen is indeed healthy and starting then the Hogs have a chance to keep it somewhat close. Hatcher (#4) is pretty good at receiver. My favorite player on the team is Kiero Small at FB. He is a bad MFer one man wrecking crew as a lead blocker. If we can get 4 yards a carry and mix in some play action it might be interesting for awhile.
  15. As a Razorback fan, let me tell you that this will happen and it will be a slaughter. Our starting QB is probably still out this week and the backup is dreadful, like it's as if he's never seen an actual football before dreadful. I am expecting something along the lines of 44-10. You have a couple of good RB's from what little I've seen. Our D is still shaky against the run, so I'd bet you'll put up more than 10. I also think we'll score more than 44, though. Wish I was making the trip to Fayetteville. Williams is a very good RB, but he is nothing compared to the freshman RB Alex Collins. Wow. He reminds you of Marshawn Lynch and it's not just because he's a black dude with dreads. The offensive line is solid. D-line is borderline great with depth. The LBs are not good and the DBs are so-so. None of this matters if you see AJ Derby line up under center-just godawful. Brandon Allen is supposedly still hurting and they as of yet haven't taken the redshirt off of his younger brother, Austin, who is supposedly lighting it up in practice. That is the only shot Arkansas has of keeping it from getting ugly.
  16. Minnesota is starting Matt Cassell. Flynn in at QB for Oakland, which makes that really interesting. I'm thinking Oakland. They actually didn't look as horrible last week considering it was at Denver.
  17. Let me qualify the above by saying I think playing meaningful games in August is competitive enough to get me at least excited for next year.
  18. Looking at that list of players, if the light comes on for Rizzo and a TOR pitcher is signed that team could be surprisingly competitive. Especially so if we could get some LaHair-like early season magic from someone (Olt?). Yes that's a lot of if's, but not out of the question. If the Cubs are within 4 or 5 games and Baez gets called up in June, we won't have to worry about attendance for awhile.
  19. We all want our roster to improve, but that and hiring a good manager aren't opposing ideas. If you're going to detach Sveum from his poor record then you at least have to judge him on his stupid decisions. Manager is a position where the organization can upgrade. Let's upgrade then.
  20. Agreed. I have gotten to become an acquaintance of Cooper. He is just as gregarious and funny as the documentary showed. The whole family is solid.

  23. Kris Bryant could be called up by the end of next season? Wow.
  24. Anybody have any idea what this is about?
  25. Seriously. I was saying that very thing to a friend of mine the other day. He must be aging in Obama years.
