  1. Even so, what is Pelini's job security there? Furthermore, how does the Nebraska job measure up against other potential job openings? At first glance: 1. Texas 2. USC 3. Florida 4. A&M (if Sumlin leaves) 5. Georgia 6. Nebraska (recruiting base hurts here) If Michigan were to become open (doubtful) maybe put them at 3b?
  2. By the time that thing is built we damn well better have won a postseason series somewhere else.
  3. Almora's make-up reminds me of Wee Willie Keeler.
  4. Atlanta's problem is there really is no downtown. Everybody drives everywhere there, it's very spread out and traffic is brutal. The concept of a downtown, or at least city ballpark is readily available and utilized public transportation and an area where human beings want to congregate. I haven't been to Atlanta since the 2003 playoffs, but that was my 3rd or 4th time there and I remember it was a lot like US Cellular in that there was one or two pop-up bars nearby, but otherwise you aren't staying there. Atlanta is basically one giant suburb. Exactly, plus outside of Dallas, I've never been to a city where there is so much urban sprawl. The northern suburbs are as big as Atlanta itself now. Maybe they are trying to attract fans from Charlotte to the north, which would save those guys almost an hour's drive. All that said, LOL Atlanta.
  5. I really, really think Georgia is taking down Auburn. At some point Mark Richt could be coaching for his job, fairly or not-another big potential opening.
  6. So, to summarize... http://weknowgifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/sneaky-sea-lion-yoink.gif
  7. Anthony Davis being Anthony Davis again tonight. Several highlight plays owning Pau Gasol tonight. 32 Pts, 12 Reb, 3 Ast, 1 Stl, 6 Blk http://cdn1.sbnation.com/assets/3540065/brow_dunk.gif

  9. Clearly everyone has forgotten about Innerspace. Legendary work.
  10. Agreed. Florida is not winning that football game unless FSU has something like 5 turnovers and Winston gets hurt. They are so horrible that even Arkansas played with them for awhile. Sigh.
  11. http://www.epguides.com/PrimetimeGlick/cast.jpg Some of the most uncomfortable TV I've ever watched was this show and the interviews he would do with celebs. It was so painfully unfunny.
  12. I did several shots of Jameson with James Gandolfini at R Bar, a dive in New Orleans, back when they were filming All the King's Men. Also during that filming here, Jude Law and Sean Penn pull up to Maple Leaf Bar in a limo with their entourage. This place is also a dive but is known for great bands. They push through to the bartender, act like d-bags and get shouted out of the place. Oh, the things I used to see when I drank (more).
  13. I've started watching the Hornets/Pelicans again this season. Don't look now but Anthony Davis is about to be really, really good. His line for the night vs. Memphis: 18 Pts, 9 Reb, 2 Ast, 3 Stl, 3 Blk For the season: 22 Pts, 12 Reb, 1.3 Ast, 4 Stl, 4.25 Blk He's hitting the 3, the mid-range, decent hook and runs the floor and finishes. Beast. EDIT: OK, not 3's but long distance shots.
  14. It's all over Twitter that Renteria is the guy. Brett Taylor ‏@BleacherNation 1m RT @CarrieMuskat #Cubs to announce Renteria as manager on Thursday
  15. That whole article just makes me think of this: http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/709/419/100percent_display_image.jpg?1297280631
  16. Don't forget that Anthony Young lost something like 30 games in a row. Man, I REALLY wanted Kevin Foster and Geremi Gonzalez to be good. I know it's been posted on this board before but never forget this: Oh,Chip.
  17. I had an irrational love for Shawon Dunston as a kid. My dog was even named Dunston. I swear that Grace became a Gold Glover because he had to dig all those wild throws.
  18. I'm not subjected to the constant media coverage of the Bears so I have to ask, if McCown has another great game next week will the meatballs in Chicago start shouting for him to keep starting in place of Cutler?
  19. Haters gonna hate.
  20. If the Saints don't figure out a way to slow down a pass rush, I wouldn't count on them sweeping the Panthers.
  21. Stay classy Under Armor. Just wow. http://thinkprogress.org/sports/2013/11/05/2890511/armour-outfits-northwestern-blood-splattered-american-flag-football-uniforms-honor-troops/ http://thinkprogress.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/northwesternjerseys2-555x416.jpg
  22. BREAKING NEWS: Tony Siragusa is still a moron. He was just on the DP show trying to blame Martin for not being man enough.
  23. But isn't that a problem for any victim who speaks out? The same can be said for a victim of sexual harassment or bullying. Hell, I know proportionally they are not on the same level, but there's a history of the whistleblower taking a hit on credibility: Anita Hill, Canseco, Rutgers basketball players, etc.
  24. I'm not sure what it says, but no matter which team I seem to do much better at naming 80's and 90's players but I forget guys in say, 2005. Maybe because I was younger and was able to watch baseball every day. For example, I remember vividly the guys like Ray Lankford, Bernard Gilkey or Tom Pagnozzi but I totally miss on an Edgar Renteria.
