  1. I think they are in now, but still probably playing in Dayton in a few games. I'm starting to get worried even though everyone says michigan is in. On the plus side, if they win tomorrow, they won't play in Dayton.
  2. I think the PSU win should slide them at least past the bottom at-large team currently in our field.
  3. Princeton takes the Ivy bid at the buzzer.
  4. Princeton just hit a jumper to win but they're reviewing it. Man I love March. Looks like he got the shot off. Harvard now 65 years since their last NCAA appearance.
  5. 3 seconds left in the Ivy League playoff, Harvard up 1, Princeton ball, live on ESPN3.
  6. I think it's a knee-jerk reaction based on two games. Bracketologists in general get way too caught up in conference tournament results.
  7. Harvard and Princeton are playing a playoff game for the Ivy title in Yale's gym, with half the stands reserved for Harvard fans and half for Princeton fans. http://s3.amazonaws.com/twitpic/photos/large/256784786.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=0ZRYP5X5F6FSMBCCSE82&Expires=1299967789&Signature=Aiw5S6wj5cv2h75sqT5K494wrWE%3D The currently most popular heard chant in the gym: "Yale Sucks!".
  8. Anybody have any opinions on the following teams, and/or passing current at-large candidates in the field? Alabama, Harvard, Missouri State, New Mexico, Penn State, USC, VCU, Washington State To me, Penn State, USC, VCU and New Mexico have decent arguments, but I'm up for discussion.
  9. Hampton makes it official in the MEAC.
  10. Kentucky defeated Alabama, denying another bid theft. Remaining potential bid thieves: Atlantic 10: Dayton Big Ten: Penn State (they're not in the field right now) WAC: Boise State
  11. Well, at least we don't have to worry about Memphis getting an undeserved at-large bid.
  12. For today: 1) Rank the remaining 22 unplaced teams. As bids become "stolen", the bottom of the at-large pool will be replaced accordingly. Potentially 4 bids can still be stolen (ACC, B12, MWC, P10, BE only have teams already in the field remaining). 2) Start building the bracket. This can be done in discussion. We'll start with the top 16 and bottom 18, making sure there are no geographical disadvantages for the better seeds in the first round, and that seeding follows conference rules for the first two rounds.
  13. Updated S-Curve (1-28, 51-68): Remaining 22 teams to be placed: Pod placement: Bottom of the at-large pool (alpha): Boston College, Colorado, Richmond
  14. Any more than 3 lists coming?
  15. Wow, he took 24 shots to get his 34 points. That's...still pretty efficient, actually. The refs forgot about the Stern-mandated conspiracy against Rose for one night. Got to even out the numbers so nobody notices games like last Sunday in Miami.
  16. Wow, he took 24 shots to get his 34 points. That's...still pretty efficient, actually.
  17. Also, the Lakers can't do it anymore, since they were swept by the Heat. The Thunder were swept by the Spurs. So, the only teams yet that can beat every other team are the Bulls and Spurs. The Spurs have yet to beat the Celtics, while the Bulls have yet to beat the Knicks. Another encouraging stat: Chicago just surpassed Boston in scoring differential for the year. Even with the Lakers, 0.1 behind Miami, 0.3 behind San Antonio.
  18. Also, why in the hell is St. Mary's playing Weber State tonight? Is that for real?
  19. Rank the next set of S-Curve teams from 1-16 (Illinois reps leave out Illinois, of course): 2) Rank the remaining 15 at-larges. In the case of bid theft by non-at-large candidates, the lowest in this list will get bumped off the board. 3) Rank the bottom 12 auto-bids from the remaining unplaced bids, the aggregate bottom 8 of which will go into the bottom of the S-Curve.
  20. The list is alphabetical. You have a weird bitterness going on right now.
  21. They're not even seeded yet?
  22. I don't think I can put into words how much I hate how the offense just stops with about 7 minutes left and a lead.
  23. How are they any worse than Illinois at this point? The entire offense is premised on dribble dribble dribble, moving screen, chucked three. No inside game whatsoever. Illinois had more 3-point attempts (16 to 12) and 3-pointers made up 50% of Illinois' shot attempts compared to 44% for Michigan. The other half of the offense is turnovers.
  24. Alabama came back to beat Georgia in OT, in Georgia.
  25. Eh, I'd hardly say they were too high on the S-Curve at this point. Plus apparently they won anyway. :P
