  1. Kinda easy to forfive a 5/21 night on the third game in three days from a guy thats logged that many minutes. I'm kind of surprised the guy can still lift his arms over his head. It's as if everyone except Thibs got the memo that the season is heavily compacted. 12 games in 18 days so far.
  2. Because contending teams always have that popular middle reliever/catcher tandem need.
  3. Deng had better get the day off tomorrow. EDIT: True story, Deng has played 468 minutes this year, 68 more than the #2 in the league, Derrick Rose.
  4. Aaaand Michigan gets away with fouling a 3 point shooter up 3, as he misses the first, makes the second, misses the third on purpose, gets the rebound, and can't get a shot off before the buzzer.
  5. Northwestern is a better team than many give them credit for. They lost to Baylor, at Creighton, at OSU, and by 1 at home to Illinois. They could finish 9th in the Big Ten and still be tournament quality.
  6. That's...absurdly off topic.
  7. Liverpool just won at City. Wow. EDIT: Spurs won vs Everton to pull even with Man U in the Premier League table.
  8. The 97 Marlins' best bet may be Jim Leyland.
  9. I was going to say bottom 4 including Minnesota, but I didn't notice Wisconsin sitting there at 60.
  10. He likes Derrick Rose, tacos, and Radiohead, pretty much in that order. You've got my son nailed down pretty well there.
  11. Interesting trivia bit that is now true: Every World Series winner prior to the 1994 strike has had a hall of famer on it. It used to be pre-1990, but now Larkin is in.
  12. Yep, Illinois is 10th in the RPI: http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html Considering the remainder of their schedule, I don't anticipate it going down a lot, either.
  13. If I calculated this right, Illinois' RPI is hilarious right now. EDIT: I have them 10th, ahead of Ohio State, North Carolina, Kansas and Missouri. Waiting on RTRPI to update to see if I did it right.
  14. John Gasaway posted his top 25 freshmen: 25. Eric Moreland, Oregon State Beavers 24. Spencer Dinwiddie, Colorado Buffaloes 23. Marquis Teague, Kentucky Wildcats 22. Cody Zeller, Indiana Hoosiers 1. Anthony Davis, Kentucky Wildcats
  15. Really? I feel like Illinois matches up wonderfully with Indiana (too well, in my opinion, but alas). They have athleticism all over the court and the only guy in the conference with the size-athleticism-talent combination to go toe-to-toe with Zeller (this is not to ignore Sullinger, who I still believe the best player in the league, but he gives away a lot of height, if not weight, to Leonard/Zeller). Illinois and Michigan State are the only two remaining home games that I think IU could lose if they play well (obviously leaving the door open for a stinker, which IU has come close to the last two times out -- heck, I'm concerned about Minnesota tomorrow night). I meant that Illinois doesn't get a home game vs IU. Their road-only opponents this year are IU and PSU, and I feel like they can beat PSU. Granted, they could surprise me and beat everyone except PSU.
  16. It would appear so, yes.In fairness, my avatar makes me look like a two-year old.
  17. Heh, that's pretty funny: http://chicago.sbnation.com/chicago-bulls/2012/1/11/2698865/tom-thibodeau-per-stat
  18. More OSU-Illinois silliness: - OSU has the #1 most efficient defense in the country, allowing under 80 points per 100 possessions on the season. Illinois' offense averaged just over 103 points per 100 possessions, average among major conference teams. Last night, Illinois' offensive efficiency was 120 points per 100 possessions, Illinois' most efficient offensive night of the year and OSU's least efficient defensive result of the year. - Brandon Paul was the least efficient offensive regular of any major conference player at 91.7 offensive rating. Last night, Paul had a 159.2 offensive rating, the best individual rating for any player this year.
  19. "Rushed" isn't the right word. It was more of a celebratory walk.
  20. On the plus side, Paul could get any shot he wanted tonight, and Leonard did fantastic defensively against Sullinger.
  21. How does that happen? Divine intervention, I'm not sure how else to describe it. But I'll take it. Even funnier: Paul missed his first 3 shots from the field and had 4 turnovers in the first 7 minutes. At the 13:29 mark of the first half, Paul was 0-3 with 4 turnovers.
  22. Yeah, at this point, the Atlantic is probably theirs to lose. It would be a little funny if Boston and New York slipped to the 7 and 8 seeds and caught Chicago and Miami in the first round.
  23. Now the trick is going to be to not give that one back by losing at PSU. All of a sudden, though, I feel like Illinois can beat every B1G team except Indiana this year.
  24. I dont even know what this means. That was a good outcome for IU. He was apologizing to IU fans for considering OSU the best team in the conference.
