Grant Wahl just tweeted that the USMNT has scheduled a friendly against Brazil on May 30 in Landover, MD. He also mentioned that the new CONCACAF president wants to change/eliminate the Gold Cup, and combine efforts with the CONMEBOL Copa America in an effort to provide more consistent challenges for the better CONCACAF teams (basically USA and Mexico).
Hawaii is as far west as you can get, and it's very mountainous. Not your best work. I'd have mentioned San Diego State, but they're leaving. Hawaii is the biggest outlier in the MWC going forward, being nowhere near the Mountain time zone. Alternately, Fresno, CA isn't so much mountainous either.
At this point, the only real accurate conference name is Conference USA, mostly by default. Big Ten - 12 teams Big 12 - 10 teams Big East - Now accepting SMU and Houston Atlantic Coast - Now includes Pittsburgh Pacific 12 - Now with Utah and Colorado Southeastern Conference - I suppose Missouri is southeast of a few states. Atlantic 10 - 14 teams Mountain West - I suppose technically Hawaii is in the west, and it has a volcano... Western Athletic Conference - Louisiana Tech in in the western half of Louisiana, I suppose Heck, even the Sun Belt conference includes Western Kentucky.
Because in the current system you don't get a chance to slip up. Even one loss in the middle of the year can blow your chance at winning your conference division, at which point you can just write off your chance at playing for the championship.
I'm more worried about Garza following the Zambrano career path of being well above average until age 30, and then hitting a wall. And then soon after being bad at pitching.
