  1. Damn. Illinois State had me excited for a second. Nine Big Ten teams in the postseason, and none of them are Illinois.
  2. Screw it. ALL ONES AND TWOS IN THE ELITE 8.
  3. I've said it before, but to me the tournament is really top heavy this year, and I'm actually having a tough time not putting the top 2 seeds in each region to the elite 8.
  4. I think I like Belmont over Georgetown.
  5. And Iona was 50. Both of them were ranked ahead of all the 13 seeds as well as Long Beach (a 12). Any ideas why they were unable to make this game for a 12 or a 13 seed instead of the 14? Surely there had to be 5-12 and 4-13 games that have a Thu-Sat schedule. No clue, the 12 and 13 in their region are Thursday-Saturday. Makes no sense to me. My theory: the committee totally forgot about the BYU rule and quickly had to scramble to fix it in a hurry. They've forgotten about BYU before. Theory 2: Putting BYU in Albuquerque or Portland is giving any potential 4/5 seed a first round home court disadvantage. So they had to go to Louisville or Pittsburgh, and that was the only spot that worked out (since UK is in Louisville, Syracuse and OSU are in Pittsburgh).

  7. Miami was the second team out. I feel better. Oral Roberts was the first team out...the hell?
  8. What's not to like about the 3rd best team in the WCC?
  9. Mizzou scheduled Illinois, ODU and Villanova, all on the road. Really pisses me off. and 2/3 of those teams sucked. The other is a good midmajor. Missouri clearly should've known that those traditional tournament teams were going to be bad this year when they were scheduled a year ago. In fairness to Missouri, Illinois was a top 20 team when they played them. They couldn't know that they'd quit in January either.
  10. Yep, and they were on the 13 seed line, too, so they totally got bumped for the BYU rule.
  11. Any news on the NIT field yet?
  12. Two of the 76 brackets on the Bracket Matrix correctly picked all the teams. Seven had Iona.
  13. Highest RPI team left out: #44 Marshall Highest KenPom team left out: #38 Miami Lowest RPI team that got an at-large bid: #56 West Virginia Lowest KenPom team that got an at-large bid: #76 Colorado State
  14. Yeah Missouri's RPI really killed them. Should've scheduled Arkansas Little-Rock and Bowling Green instead of Kennesaw State and William & Mary. Thankfully they've received that message loud and clear and can avoid it next time. Never said it was right, just that it was the only outlier among the top 8 teams.
  15. Yeah Missouri's RPI really killed them.
  16. More FWIW, the NSBB S-Curve:
  17. Ten bucks says that second play-in game is a 14 seed because of the BYU rule. Either the committee totally forgot about it until the last second, or that was the only way they could make it work.
  18. Yes, TruTV will show the committee's S-Curve.
  19. TT and I were the only two that never put Iona in the bottom of the consideration list. Never had them in, but...
  20. Conference USA sucks Better than the Pac-12. Of course, they have a first four team and a ... wait, Colorado got an 11 seed?!
  21. Sadly, I don't think Ohio cares about Michigan at all unless it has a direction in front of it.
  22. THE OTHER Ohio state University.
  23. Yep missed on Miami. Overall, though, this may have been the best year yet. We missed one team, and were off by more than two seeds just twice, with Creighton and New Mexico.
  24. Cal in the play-in with South Florida. To me that says either Miami or NC State missed.
  25. Low on New Mexico, high on Creighton.
