  1. (Shameless plug) Some quick last-minute help to fill out your brackets: http://www.teamrankings.com/blog/ncaa-basketball/seven-high-seven-low-and-seven-where-we-just-dont-know-stat-geek-idol. Thanks a lot, Cal.
  2. Really? Yeah, check his free blog. Its still a longshot but higher odds than usual. Meh, not really a fan of log5 analysis since it's a formula based solely on winning percentage and doesn't take strength of schedule into account at all. It's based on Pomeroy's rating, which does take strength of schedule into account.

  4. If the numbers say they're the most efficient scoring team off the PnR in the league, and they run the PnR as their primary play (33% of the time overall, 22% where the ballhandler cuts to the hoop, 11% when the roller gets the ball), I have a tough time finding fault with the primary offensive player involved in the set. For curiosity's sake, the second offensive option for the Bulls offensively is creating offense from offensive rebounds. Third is transition, fourth is Iso, fifth is spot-up, and they almost never use post-up offensive plays.
  5. The Bulls' primary offensive option is the pick-and-roll, and the Bulls' pick and roll offense is the most efficient P&R in the NBA. So...Rose and the scheme aren't the problem here. I didn't say they didn't run the PnR enough, I said they didn't run it with Boozer enough. Lately I've seen Boozer running it a lot more, which is why I think he's been playing better. What is your hypothesis for Boozer's decreased production and efficiency then? He was injured last year and has no lift left in his legs. He doesn't play above the rim, so his offensive production is reduced to long-range 2's. He's still a really good rebounder for positioning, but he's terrible on help defense.

  7. He's doing that without a PG, and he's miles better defensively than Boozer.

I did try to make a list of all IFAs in the Prospect Draft thread, but I missed Martin.
  9. I will have the same issue with both Neftali Feliz and Aaron Crow...probably.
  10. Bucks traded Andrew Bogut for Monta Ellis. Bwuh?
  11. Based on the NIT results, the Big Ten is good. And the SEC is not.
  12. Magglio Ordonez
  13. Did it get mentioned that the Bears re-signed Tim Jennings about an hour ago? I'm not sure if everybody knew that was a thing.
  14. stop panicing. There's a chance he never does get on that plane to Buffalo. And just because a team doesnt want the player to leave without a contract doesn't mean the player can't leave if he wants to. When UMFan tells you to stop panicking, you've reached a new level of overreaction.
  15. HUB ARKUSH SHAKES FIST AT UPPITY SKY. FILM AT 11.
  16. He may not be a top 10 WR, but he's easily the Bears' best WR in at least 15 years.
  17. Maybe he thought there was no chance. I just really hope I don't have to hear the bitching about Weber another 4 years after he's gone. Illinois fans let Self go quietly and quickly, so I don't see them dwelling long on Bruce...
  18. To me, the whole point of having a draft is to avoid a "quickest draw wins" free-for-all situation. If people only want 1-2 guys they can just pass/dropout.
  19. Yeah, I'm looking to pick up at least 4, maybe 5 depending on how many are available.
  20. Random...
  21. Meh, UConn is scary in name only this year. They've beaten one good team in three months. I'd say they were the weakest 9 seed, but Southern Miss blows that argument up, and Alabama has the same problem UConn has (haven't beat a good team in forever). Really, all the 9 seeds are beatable this year.
  22. Again, this argument all hinges on assuming Mizzou would lose at least 3 more games if they played similar schedules to Ohio St/Michigan St. Which is a large assumption when you look at how Mizzou has fared against Top 10 schools (4-1). No, the argument is that the rest of the top two seeds are clearly better teams based on efficiency ratings. Stop using coaches polls in your argument, you're way out of your league in the argument here.
  23. http://kenpom.com/ http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/bkt1112.htm Missouri definitely did not get screwed. And even though they were eighth on the S-Curve, they ended up with the lowest ranked No. 1 seed in Michigan State anyway. So, schedule the teams that you'll beat by 15-20 instead of the teams you'll beat by 30. OK. Just stop. You clearly have no idea how the efficiency ratings work.
  24. The best news is they finally scored on LA. You're a glass-half-empty guy, I'm just thrilled the glass finally has something in it.
  25. Missouri was easily a top 8 team. Unfortunately, so were the other 7. Mizzou has a decent argument for a better resume than Duke. Outside that, though? Not so much.
