    I'm more worried about Garza following the Zambrano career path of being well above average until age 30, and then hitting a wall. And then soon after being bad at pitching.

    Murray State drew St. Mary's in the Bracket Buster game, so they may lose this season after all.

    I don't think 10-8 is going to be enough for Illinois to finish ahead of one of OSU, MSU, Wisconsin (who will own the tiebreaker with Illinois) or Michigan (who has a cake schedule). EDIT: Basically, I'm thinking Illinois is going to need to be 12-6 for a top 4 finish, which would require winning two of @IU, @Michigan, @OSU, @Wisconsin.

    Like when we did the same thing in 09-10? One on the road in Wisconsin, the other against MSU at home? Yeah that secured nothing. He's gone or the fan base will riot. These are better wins, and we had 4 bad losses that year, compared to 1 (God, it better stay at that number) this year. I think we get in this year, but I still think Webers gone. Unless they go crazy and finish top 4 in the Big Ten this year, I agree.

    Well, two weeks ago Illinois was awesome offensively and beat Ohio State. Tonight, Illinois was awesome defensively and beat Michigan State. Last week, though, they took tonight's offense and married it to the Ohio State game's defense to produce something somehow even uglier than tonight's game.

    I've never seen a team play so awesomely defensively and so terrible offensively. Every time Sam Maniscalco was on the floor, Illinois was completely useless offensively and he was the worst player from either team.

    I'd much rather have Howard than Gasol. So much it shouldn't even really be a debate.

    It was lottery protected this year, and every subsequent year it becomes two fewer picks protected until 2016.

    Again, the precedent has been set several times before. This precedent is either: 1) Monetary compensation, and no player compensation (when the Red Sox took Duquette) 2) A low A roster filler, prospect rank ~30 (MacPhail...to the Cubs from the Twins) Anything beyond that is totally out of line and re-establishes a precedent Selig isn't going to want to set.

    Christina Kahrl knows what's up with Ryan Theriot, and how the Giants managed to remain without a shortstop today.

    I do think it's a little weird that the Bulls play the Pacers and Cavs 3 times each but the Heat 4 times. Not because of the quality of the teams, just that I'd figured that the divisional opponents would still be the most played teams in the schedule.

    The real question is which was the better offensive year, 1983 or 2011? (and I believe that Sandberg fellow projected for slightly more power than Barney does)

    It's probably safer to say Leonard will go pro if there's even a chance he's a lottery pick. Right now he's ~20 on most draft lists and is going to have to show improvement to make headway on the draft board.

    Considering he isn't even projecting to beat the AAV of the contract in year one, yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. EDIT: Not to mention that Detroit has one of the worst park factors in the majors for lefty sluggers. This isn't going to end well.

    Does clear 30 HRs = more than 30 HRs? Because I know Wilkins had 30 on the dot, and that Henry Rodriguez had more than 30. I searched BR for > 30, and yeah, only Henry Rodriguez (who hit 31 in 1998) cleared the bar since Billy Williams in 1970. Wilkins and McGriff hit 30.
