    Kotchman was benched for being terrible so I dropped him. Rivera was picked up as a replacement, which I thought was okay as long as I was releasing a player. It had nothing to do with today, it was because he got benched yesterday. If that isn't kosher, then I'll just take Kotchman back for the rest of this week and replace him for next week.

    I'm not sure how much Howard going to UK would hurt Illinois. If someone was going to go to UK, they'd have gone there regardless of Howard's recruitment.

    Well, Castillo is staying on the roster for a while, at least. Camp is the 7th reliever, well down the lists of things to bother dealing with at this time.

    It's unconscionable that the manager would use the second best reliever on the team in back to back close games with an off day in between after not getting a lot of work in spring training. No manager would make that move. I'm intrigued by the idea that Wood is the second best reliever on the team. I mean, if you have faith in his 2011, then he's got to be the best, right? Or you could just take a quick glance at any of several projection systems, which all see Marmol's 2011 as a blip more than a trend.

    No breakdown in mechanics, was pitching as smoothly in the 9th as he was all game, no concerns. Agreed. I do assume he'll be monitored far more closely than the other 4 starters given the limited IP he's racked up in past seasons. I'd assume they'll have him at an innings limit this year, possibly around 150. They do have arms ready in the minors, so they'd be better off with a "better safe than sorry" approach this year.

    I don't think Fiociello is a top 15 pick next year, as of now. So he's predicting the Cubs will make the playoffs.

    The Canucks have been on fire of late, and who knows how effective the Blackhawks will be or if Toews can even go. The Wings should be better than they are, and the Blues just kind of coasted at the end. Anybody from the Central plus the Canucks should be able to give the East winner all they can handle, though.

    Hey, after that atrocious first day and a half (I was still at -15 before the Billingsley start began), I actually managed to outscore some teams. So maybe my roster isn't as terrible as it appeared. :P

    If that's how everyone wants it to be going forward, that's fine with me, but I don't think we can just handwave it for last week because that's how people think it should have been. It does put people who barely check their team once a week at a disadvantage, though.
