  1. Even more absurd...Padres and Dodgers are 3-3 at home vs. the Cubs, and 19-0 otherwise.
  2. If one of Jeanty, Graham, Campbell or Warren is there at 10, I'd be ecstatic and hope the Bears take them. If not, then it gets interesting. However, that also means I hope Sanders goes top 10 in some panic move so those 4 real prospects slide a bit. EDIT: For example, this mock draft actually happening in the top 10 would frustrate the Bear fan in me: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6298225/2025/04/23/nfl-mock-draft-2025-shedeur-sanders/
  3. Cubs have played the Dodgers, Padres, Diamondbacks, Rangers and A's. Those teams are 10-15 against the Cubs. They are 61-31 otherwise.
  4. The Cubs are currently way out in front of B-R's SRS rating system on teams:
  5. In the last 2 games the Cubs have played Arizona, they've allowed 18 runs in the 8th inning combined. And split those games.
  6. The strong close to the season (7 pts the last 4 games) means the Hawks finish with 61 points, which is still abysmally low, but better than finishing in the 50s which they did last season.
  7. 4 games to go, Bulls effectively 2 games out of the 7-8 spot (win the tiebreaker vs Orlando, lose the tiebreaker vs Atlanta). So, really, they'll have to win out to get that spot (Orlando and Atlanta play each other twice, so if Bulls win out, their odds of getting in the 7-8 game is about 80%, one loss and it drops below 50%). So, tonight they play in Cleveland against a Cavs team that still hasn't quite clinched the 1 seed yet. If they can steal a win, they might actually play in the playoffs this season. If not, they'll likely repeat the performance from the past 3 years.
  8. They might actually climb into the 8 seed spot, 2 games back of Orlando but own the tiebreaker (they do not own the tiebreaker vs the Hawks).
  9. Top 25 on the seed list went 22-3, with one of the losses being a Memphis team so overseeded they were the Vegas underdog in their game against Colorado State, and that doesn't include a Gonzaga team everyone thought was heavily underseeded and won by 20.
  10. It's gotten to the point I almost feel compelled to root for Mexico.
  11. From The Athletic's top 150 free agent list:
  12. He's also just 25 and has the physical traits that Poles loves, so there's reason to think his best years are ahead of him. I like this better than spending, say, 18 million on Mack hoping he still has something in the tank.
  13. Live look at the Bears war room with regards to linemen:
  14. I do like that they've addressed line issues before the draft this year, so the draft strategy can migrate from "have to draft like 6 linemen in 7 picks to make anything work" to "just draft the best player available and try to get a major impact player at 10".
  15. On the men's side, the top 2 seeds got quintuple byes in the conference tournament and neither advanced to the final.
  16. Well, a tourney. Meanwhile Nebraska went from safely into the NCAA tourney to not qualifying for the B1G tourney in 5 games. Ouch.
  17. I'm encouraged that the front office was able to see that the interior O-line was a disaster and address it immediately this offseason. Less so that it took like 3 offseasons for this, but maybe they were enamored with the hope of Jenkins for too long, I dunno.
  18. My first thought was "lefty Shawon Dunston", so...close enough?
  19. I think a lot of casual fans don't realize just how bad the Hawks (and Sharks and Ducks) were last year. Last year they finished the season with 52 points, which was 25 points out of 7th place in their division. This year, at the ASB they have 41 points, still in last place, but actually competing with the lower half teams in the league. To put it this way, they could improve their standing by about 20 points this season (72 points), which would be effectively an 8-10 win improvement, and still finish last in their division.
  20. Nike surprisingly the runaway commercial leader to this point.
  21. This halftime show is too good for this game.
  22. Caleb Williams only threw 6 picks this year.
  23. This is the second largest halftime deficit in Super Bowl history, 1 point behind the 1988 Super Bowl where Washington led Denver 35-10. Bears led 23-3 at the half in 1986
  24. This is starting to feel a bit like the 1986 Super Bowl.
  25. 8 rounds into the shootout I'm not sure I've seen a good move yet. Granted, I was spoiled by Patrick Kane for 10 years, so maybe nobody else can do anything close to that.
