  1. Wow. And I really thought Detroit was going to steamroll through the Cardinals in this Series. I hate you sports.
  2. If he's signed as the fourth outfielder, that's not as much of a problem. He's still a guy that can put up a great average and still give you a decent amount of HR's a year. I'm sure a starting job will be open to him somewhere.
  3. Alou can still hit, he's proven that. The problem with signing Moises would be to hope and pray he could play a full season without getting hurt, and I don't think he can play a full season without getting hurt anymore.
  4. I'm in...I'll be there for the draft.
  5. You're joking right? So you would rather have Julian Tavarez pitching in the 9th rather than Papelbon? Agreed.
  6. Buck just called Neifi, "A big bat in the lineup."
  7. Our pass D is pathetic. We don't use our strength, man to man, enough. Harris and Woodson are great at man to man defense, yet we continue to play zone with two safeties in Collins and Manuel that can't defend the pass for their lives. At least we're stopping the run this year.
  8. Drew Tate is out for the game against NIU on Saturday. He had surgery on his hand, so he could be out for more than just this game. Iowa looked bad without Tate against 'Cuse. Hopefully the same happens against NIU, except they actually get the 'L' this time :)
  9. Owens with the star treatment on a very questionable flag there.
  10. He was having a great first half too. He was pretty close to signing with the Pack, but we made it clear that we were going to try to get Woodson instead of Arrington. Still, it's a tough break for the Giants.
  11. Wow, a veritable cornucopia of negative vibes!! I suppose the Hawks have earned that much over the years. I'd still like to see what happens (if anything) when Havlat & Ruutu both come back, which should be at about the same time in early November. If they could prevent the other team from scoring 5 times a game, they might be able to hang in there until those guys return, but they'll be doing it without Khabi for a couple weeks. Boucher has looked decent his first couple of games this year. I'm not that worried about Khabi being out, but more so with our lack of depth on the offensive front the next 2-3 weeks as well as our pathetic defense. Once we get Havlat, Ruutu, and Khabibulin back, we should be ok and should still contend for a playoff spot, I would think. We also catch a break that we don't have many games the next 2 weeks. I think we only play 5 games in the next two weeks, so we're pretty lucky on that front.
  12. That definitely looks like pinetar in his hand.
  13. NIU against Iowa should be an interesting game. There is a rumor going around that Nicholson could be the starter of that game based on how well he performed in the 2nd half against Temple. If Nicholson starts, it will be a very solid game and NIU could be in contention to spring an upset. If Horvath starts, well good win Iowa. SIU has a must-win game against Missouri State this weekend. I'm not really worried about the Bears seeing how they lost to Indiana State yesterday. Prior to ISU's win yesterday, they went something like 25 I-AA games in a row without winning a game. That just goes to show you how bad Missouri State is, I guess. Hopefully we can get our backup some snaps as well in this game. With our showdown against Youngstown State the following week, we need to do everything we can to be ready for that game.
  14. Joseph Addai looks really good.
  15. That was a classless move by Moss and a huge killer as they lost 3 points because of his stupidity. Viqueens tied at 10 and have great field position after a punt return puts them at the Seahawks 41 :x
  16. Packers finally win, 34-24. Joey Marino threw for 414 yards, but had 3 INT's. Boy that's embarassing. At least we got a win :?
  17. Favre to David Martin for another TD. 34-24 Packers, 6:11 left.
  18. Packers make Harrington look like Marino on that drive. 2 point conversion is good as well. 27-24 :(
  19. Ahman Green looking like the Green of 2003 with a 70 yard run to paydirt to give the Pack a 27-16 lead :D
  20. Yeah, what the heck happened at the end of the half when Rayner was trying to kick a 55 yard FG? 2 penalties and a row and he attempted to kick 3 times?
  21. Officials reverse an incomplete pass as Favre hits Driver for a 34 yard TD pass!!! 20-10 Packers, 8:51 left in the 3rd :D
  22. Charles Woodson is really starting to grow on me :D 13-10 Pack.
  23. Straight up picks: Jacksonville Cincy New England Tampa J-E-T-S DA PACK San Diego Pittsburgh Denver Arizona Seattle Indy Giants
  24. I've got the Giants winning. I also have the Giants winning.
  25. NIU beat Temple 41-20. My friends back in DeKalb said that even though Nicholson threw a pick, he looked much more poised and looked like an actual QB compared to Horvath. I think we'd actually have a shot to do something against Iowa next week if Danny Nic started, but that probably won't happen. Wolfe's New York hopes are definitely done now and NIU's MAC West hopes are in serious jeopardy as well as WMU beat Ball St. SIU had a heartbreaking loss tonight to Western Kentucky, 27-24. We took a 24-10 lead at halftime and then all of a sudden, our offense just quit on us. Our secondary looked like a bunch of wounded ducks as well in the 2nd half. WKU took the lead with 2:20 left, and we were able to convert a 4th and 3 that took us to our 40. On the next play, Nick Hill completed a pass to one of our wideouts to the WKU 45, but a WKU safety stripped the ball away from him and recovered, ending our chances of a comeback. SIU's chances of winning a 4th straight Gateway conference football championship looks to be a moot point right now. We have 2 easy games left in Missouri State and Southern Utah and 2 difficult games at Youngstown State and at home VS Northern Iowa. If we can win 3 of those 4, we'll be in the playoffs. If we can win all 4, we may have a shot for tying for the conference championship. If we lose any more than 1 of those games, we won't even make the playoffs this year.
