NIU beat Temple 41-20. My friends back in DeKalb said that even though Nicholson threw a pick, he looked much more poised and looked like an actual QB compared to Horvath. I think we'd actually have a shot to do something against Iowa next week if Danny Nic started, but that probably won't happen. Wolfe's New York hopes are definitely done now and NIU's MAC West hopes are in serious jeopardy as well as WMU beat Ball St. SIU had a heartbreaking loss tonight to Western Kentucky, 27-24. We took a 24-10 lead at halftime and then all of a sudden, our offense just quit on us. Our secondary looked like a bunch of wounded ducks as well in the 2nd half. WKU took the lead with 2:20 left, and we were able to convert a 4th and 3 that took us to our 40. On the next play, Nick Hill completed a pass to one of our wideouts to the WKU 45, but a WKU safety stripped the ball away from him and recovered, ending our chances of a comeback. SIU's chances of winning a 4th straight Gateway conference football championship looks to be a moot point right now. We have 2 easy games left in Missouri State and Southern Utah and 2 difficult games at Youngstown State and at home VS Northern Iowa. If we can win 3 of those 4, we'll be in the playoffs. If we can win all 4, we may have a shot for tying for the conference championship. If we lose any more than 1 of those games, we won't even make the playoffs this year.
