    Broken nose, headed back to CHicago for a mask. Darn. How long will he have to wear that thing? I hope he doesnt turn into Rick Hamilton and wear it the rest of his life. Kinda suprised he broke his nose. There wasn't much blood so I thought he didn't. Regardless, he played great and has a promising future. One more time, THANK YOU ISAIAH! I'm pretty sure if you break a nose, it doesn't bleed. I think he's probably going to have to wear it for 2-4 weeks. Nothing big though. He should really only miss tomorrow's game because he's getting the mask fitted. Here's hoping he'll be ready to go for the home opener.

    Actually he's very talented, he just hasn't picthed well. I think there is a difference. What leads you to believe he's talented? Not being sarcastic, just asking. He has good stuff. Yes he does. I'd be interested in adding a quality arm like Heilman.

    That was one of the best games I've ever seen the Bulls play, and that's counting the dynasty years. Just an absolutely unbelieveable game on both ends of the floor. Imagine if we shot just "ok" in the 1st quarter :shock: Another Florida team in the Magic tomorrow. Hopefully more of the same :D

    I laughed out loud at what Kerr said. He was saying how Chicago fans are spoiled at all of the teams' successes. Then he says, "They've got the Cubs...oh never mind." So true.

    Great news. I'll admit, I would've been a bit worried if this deal didn't get done. Milwaukee was making it clear that they would use their $14 million in the offseason on Hinrich and I don't really know if we would've matched that. Thankfully we don't have to worry about that anymore :D Pax for President.

    I would put USC ahead of ND right now. I wouldn't. USC lost to Oregon State for crying out loud. Not to mention that they were extremely close to losing to Washington State and Washington. USC was extremely overrated. And Notre Dame isn't? Cubweiser is right. They both are overrated, but USC has looked extremely unimpressive all year long. ND's loss came against a team that is ranked #2 in the nation while USC's loss came against a team that isn't worthy of being top 50 in the nation. That fact alone is why I believe ND should be ranked ahead of USC.

    When was the last time an NFL team scored 60? I remember that Bengals-Browns game where both teams were close to the 50s, but I really don't remember the last time a team scored 60. Keep pouring it on.

    Let's not forget how that 03 Cubs team made the playoffs. PITCHING I'm not arguing that you need offense more than pitching, although you seem to think I am. I'm arguing that you need both. Agreed.

    nope. good hitting beats good pitching. eckstein, molina, rolen, etc were just better than pudge, guillen and granderson. prove me wrong. I'm sorry, but the Cardinals had guys playing WAY over their heads such as Eckstein and Molina and Preston Wilson. The playoffs are a small sample size. I'd still take Pudge, Polanco, Guillen, and Granderson over guys such as Molina, Eckstein, Miles, and Wilson. Abuck doesn't believe what he's saying, he's trying to show that you can't prove either argument but that some are saying good pitching beats good hitting as a fact without proof. Ok. In that case, I would say good pitching, for the most part, beats good hitting. Detroits pitchers did struggle though when it mattered most. That and creating extra outs for a team that is in the World Series usually will come back to bite you in the rear end. St. Louis' rotation pretty much sucked though, as well as most of their team. If you look at the teams that have made the World Series in the past 5 years or so, about 80% of those teams had great pitching staffs, which propelled them to the Series.

    Yay, SIU beats Missouri State, 27-17, to improve to 6-2 on the season. Wasn't extremely impressive, but it was a win nonetheless. With Illinois State's loss to Youngstown State, SIU still has a chance of winning or at least tying for the conference this season. A win on the road against Youngstown next week would be a big boost to our playoff and conference hopes.

    NIU came back to make it 17-14 Iowa, but then a TD with around 3 minutes left for the Hawkeyes iced it. If Nicholson would've started... :x :x :x

    NIU down 17-0 at half. Once again, the defense is stopping Wolfe by putting 8 and 9 in the box and Horvath (as usual) can't take advantage of it. A lot of my friends who make up a good part of the student section at NIU started chanting "NIC-HOL-SON" after Horvath threw a pick. No gold jerseys either for Mizzou.

    Garcia was the only starter towards the end of the year that was doing anything for the Sox. If I remember, he had three games in a row where he had a no-hitter or one-hitter through 6 innings in September. He also pitched in the WBC, so that could also explain why his velocity was down. I would definitely have him in the Cubs rotation, no doubt about it.

    I hate the Cardinals 1000000000000000000000000x more than I hate the White Sox, and living in Cardinals territory will make it unbearable for all of winter. It's unbelieveable that a team with so many bums is going to win the World Series.
